So, I'll try to keep this simple. I had a 97 tacoma 4x4 with a good running motor and drive train, destroyed body and frame. I bought a pristine 95 tacoma 4x4 with no motor.
I swapped the drive train from the beat truck to the nice one. Along with complete engine wiring harness and computer behind glove box.
I can get the motor to start, runs quiet for 5 seconds then starts to shake violently and dies. Key off try again, same thing.
Replaced battery terminals, fuel filter and verified the tank. Tried to plug into obd 2 system and get a no link error.
The truck I am swapping into was originally a 2.7l with a distributor, the new motor is coil packs.
    What am I missing?

Also I swapped the efi relays, checked corresponding fuses. And changed the start open circuit relay

Just what did you do with the 4th ECM plug that is on the cab harness ??

I think that might be your part of the problem.

Now those early 95 Tacoma`s did not have the OBII system or so I have been told .

Everything in the wire harness must now be a 1997 Tacoma .

The fact it even starts is a plus! The ECM is most likely missing a signal shutting off the fuel to what it thinks is a non running engine.

You really should have the EWD`s from both vehicles and it is a circuit by circuit process to sort things out.

Your close one wire wrong or a poor connection is all it takes..

If you were close I would be glad to help in person.

The 4th plug from the body harness had a spot to go into the computer. On the old computer there is only 3 spots for plugs. On the newer computer it has 4. 3 to the motor harness 1 to the chassis harness

That plug needs pinned correct so things will work.

Just because the plug matches the wires need to be correct.

    Get the OBII system working

Yup, the pinout is different, I'm mapping the old to the new by color code and re pinning.

Would it be easier to put the other wiring harness from the donor truck in?

Get your OBII system online then troubleshoot your codes.

The ECM is not able to see a feedback signal.

It might be a bad sensor a open circuit caused by any number of things.

    Then shuts off the fuel.

If I was decent with electronics that may not be a big deal, sadly that is not the case. I pulled the body harness from the donor truck. Not as bad as it first looked.

Not electronics at all just simple DC circuits.

    Good luck!

I'm gonna need it. From the research I have done a large portion of the efi system is intertwined in the body harness

Anyone have the diagram for the 2 plugs in question?

    UPDATE:
I tried a few things on my own and didn't really make any progress, I reached out to offroad solutions and talked to a man named Mike (super patient guy) he took all my truck info and sent back a very detailed set of instructions on pin layout, switching, and what exactly the wires I was swapping controlled. Truck fired right up without further issue.
    Highly recommend this company.

Not bad, sat for six years with no motor, frame and body are basically mint. Needs a good wash
Button up interior. Got a set of 2023 tacoma take off wheels for it from a buddy.
Did a simple exhaust today and changed all the fluids nose to tail.
