O2 sensor bolt sheared

What are my options besides making up new cuss words?

 

Should have used heat before trying to take it off.

 

If you can't remove the nut from the broken part of the stud, then you'll need to extract what is remaining.

or check your local auto parts / hardware store. They should have something similar. Worked for me.

Once extracted, replace the stud.

Hopefully someone will chime in with a replacement stud link. Toyota does not have one for the sensor bung and I can't remember where I ordered mine from.

Try using the nut on the broken stud. There might be enough left to still install the sensor.

 

There’s enough stud left, either i drill the stud out of the nut or find another nut to fit (easier)

 

Just find another nut. Like you said, easier.

 

i can only guess this is rare in your part of the world.

Normal for changing exhaust sensors to me.

First the studs are M8x1.25 length ? 40mm better to long then short .

In my case the nuts are to far gone to reuse even if they come off New ones for sure.

To me the fastest fix is pull off the Cat cut the old bung off weld on a new one install new studs install the Cat.

The front Gasket is different Napa # 31549 For the 3.4 but double check always.

I keep all these parts it never fails these need changed weekends when every thing is closed.

I had a dozen bungs made a few years ago The studs I think the studs came from McMaster-Carr or Bell Metric again a few years ago.

 

Leave the stud, get a new nut?

 

Crisis averted, enough stud to put new nuts on. FYI M8-1.25 is the nut size for anyone that stumbles across this thread. Thanks for the replys guys
