Good morning. I have an '09 with the stock radio CD player. I have upgraded the speakers and am happy with the sound. The only thing that is bugging me is the difference in max volume between the CD player and radio compared to when I have my iphone plugged into the aux port. No where near as loud. I know the unit is capable of high volume, but the aux doesn't put out. Any intel would be great! TIA Cheers, Dave

We just put some pioneer component speakers in my son’s truck. We have the same issue with the stock receiver. Probably just not enough output without an amp. Planning on replacing the head unit to solve the issue. Crutchfield has numerous options between $180-400 that will likely correct it.

My Pioneer aftermaket head unit has controls to adjust the volume of the AUX accessory so you can match it to the radio/CD player. Maybe your OEM head unit has the same thing, so check the owner manual.

I'll ask the stupid-simple question... did you turn up the output volume on your phone? If you're just plugging it in, in a way that it thinks you just connected a pair of headphones, you'll still have volume control on the phone.

I use my phone with my Alpine via BT, and to kinda match other source volume, I have to crank the Bluetooth output volume to max... which occasionally confuses me for a sec when I forget I've restarted my phone & thus it reset to normal.

Thanks for the replies. I tried adjusting the phone volume. Volume of truck moves up and down correspondingly, but maxes out quite low. I know the unit is capable of much higher volumes as the CD player cranks really good. I will check the owners manual to see if it can be changed, thanks for that. First world problem, but I sure love my tunes! Cheers, Dave
