If you actually took a picture using a cellphone while driving 150 km/h....telling you how stupid and inconsiderate your actions are will probably make no difference. :annoyed: (If not, disregard;) No wonder the US has a disproportionate amount of traffic fatalities.

That is why I avoid Interstate Highways at least 10 maybe 15 years now.

Always a much better way to go i like being able to turn around where i want .

Last time on the Interstate the road was Shut down for over 24 hours that was the last straw.

lol...sounds like my luck though. One time it took me over 8 hours to get home from work. Mainly because there is literally one bridge in a 40 mile radius to cross a river nearby. Yeah, we can plan to go the other way, but once you're stuck on a shut down highway, that's it. I think I emptied my Gatorade bottle at least twice that day.

I’ve always wondered what happens if cars and trucks that aren’t meant to be driven very fast are driven very fast for long periods of time.

I don’t expect that the engine or transmission would have any issues, but I wonder if the tires would at some point start to fall apart, even if they are rated to over 110 mph.

You should probably never ever drive in California if this is what it takes to freak you out.

CHP lane splitting at 85mph would freak him out even more.

But he’s not wrong in his point.

I did, I did. LOL I would have done it at 110 if the cruise would have worked at that speed, might have been eating a burrito too, dont remember. Pretty sure I wasnt texting though. More worried about running over a pig than another driver or pedestrian.

Thats only 5 mph more than the normal limit between Pecos and Sierra Blanca.

Very little traffic for the 130 miles it runs at that limit. It's a tollway, hwy 130, will cost you out the ass to run the length of it but it cuts an hour to an hour and a half off a trip from San Antonio to Dallas. Ideally I choose state highways for leisure, but Dallas to El Paso is a solid 10 hours with bathroom breaks and a meal. After dark or coming up on sunset, drop it way back. Too much wildlife out and about. Many of these high limit counties have more cows than people. And thats no shit.

Mines super weird about it. 90% of fill ups it shows 280 then randomly it'll show 360 or even 380. Only happened a couple times tho

I have not been in Texas since the early eighties . Time flies.

Crossing the state east to west was a easy 2 days if i was close to legal.

One can never have too many light bars.
I heard that if you have anything other than Mobil 1 oil in your engine changed every 1,000 miles and you go over 75mph the engine will explode.

Not real overcrowded in the far west. San Antonio to Dallas or Houston to Dallas is a bitch though.

3rd gen 2.7 handles it okay, but no way to make the gas mileage good.

Texas is home no matter where I end up, the people and the food, the winter climate I love. But there are other places I would rather be in the months between July and October. Years ago, I got nailed by a state trooper about lunch time east of Fort Stockton on I-10, 80 in a 55. He asked, any reason your are in such a hurry. I just said, been on the road since before the sun came up, tired and just want to get home to Dallas. He said I understand, I'll make it quick! Sign here. 90 seconds later I was back out on the road with a speeding ticket. LOL
