I've been getting by, but now I noticed a large puddle of coolant coming from the passenger side body bolt. Could this be coolant that has leaked in the cab and through my floorboard via the body mount bolt?

planning on doing the repair this weekend with the service manual I bought, but want to make sure this leak isn't a new one I have to chase down.

    in advance

For Cooling system problems I would be lost without my Pressure tester .

I would bet like most things they can be rented at the Auto parts store.

This also you to find where the leak is .

Just what had you been doing topping off the coolant?

Pull the carpet out and inspect things .

Was not the smell of coolant overwhelming??

To start leaking around the cab mount the floor must be soaked or the rubber plug worked loose.

@Bivouac , yepp, just been topping off the coolant. Was only a slight leak in the cab but just noticed the puddle under the truck today.

yes, the sweet smell of coolant is a bit overwhelming, but with the windows down and short drives to and from work, it was bearable. Removing the dash, devoting a weekend to doing the job, and spending the money on parts was really not motivating me to get her done, but now that I'm leaking externally, I'm a little embarrassed lol. Inside can be a total mess, but the outside for some reason I care way more about lol

I might go try a pressure tester, but I'm 99.9% certain it's my heater core. There are no coolant lines that far back or under the truck that would allow coolant to come out of the body mount bolt. Just looking for some confirmation bias from my fellow 1st gen'ers out there I guess

The heater can be removed without removing the dash .

If you have AC the Evap Coil is going to be in your way .

The hardest part for me was getting the hoses off you might need to cut them.

If your a bigger person the doors off and seats out is a great help.

Worst case loop the hoses at the firewall put it off till fall.

    Best of luck !!

A job like this moral support is great.

Yes !! The pressure switch will keep the compressor clutch from pulling in.
