Hey all! Bought this 2013 Magnetic Gray 4Dr Tacoma PreRunner a few months ago and the bug got me…
I have SCS Ray 10’s and 265/75r16 Duratracs coming in this week. I also ordered Bilstein 6112’s for the front and 5160’s for the rear. Looking forward to collaborating with everyone on this build!

Tires came in! Just waiting on the Ray 10’s (they’ll be here Friday) and the lift (next week). Still trying to decide if i want a leaf pack or AAL. Also, I’m somewhat OCD about things being perfect so do y’all recommend doing any replacement parts before adding the goodies? Ive read about the ECGS bushing to replace the needle bearing…. Anything else? Thanks!

Based on your username, I’d say we live in the same town! Welcome to TW. I’m running that suspension setup and it has been great so I think you’ll like it. My suspension was on the truck when I bought it, but the PO put heavier duty springs on the truck instead of an AAL.

Yep! I just moved from the city back out to Short Pump. Looking to get some ideas from members as this will be my first true build. Had a 99 4Runner I started building but after $4000 in suspension and other upgrades the trans tanked so i never got to truly use….

Oh nice! I’m also coming from a 3rd gen 4runner. Lost her to someone who ran a stop @ 40mph.

Give me a shout if you want to see how the truck rides with the setup I’ve got. I’m stock other than that, a bed cap, and some 275/70R16 size tires.

@Greyhome who did your lift install? I’d do my own but I just don’t have the time these days… want to take it to a reputable shop.

Previous owner had it done. I’m afraid I don’t have a great recommendation for a shop in town for suspension.

Installed! Love the look. Did have to trim the front wheel well and take off the mud flaps but not rubbing anymore. Lift goes on next week!

So pretty, I’m trying to find a sport hood and a color matched grill surround… no luck yet. Any opinions on headlights? Everyone says AlphaRex is dog shit and morimoto still isn’t as good as OEM but all this chrome has to go…

These look good… but the retrofit has really caught my eye, just don’t know if I want to pay $1000 for headlights.

Stick with the OEM Pro headlights and do the “ultimate headlight mod” (check the sticky threads).

Did you get a color matched surround for the grill? Some pics look like you did.

fellow MGM owner here. Truck is looking good.

Edit: never mind my dumbass didn’t realize you were quoting someone else’s posts who has the color matched grill surround.

Another little mod you could do that I think makes a good difference is just swapping the stock antenna for a shorty stub antenna.

I think I got mine off Amazon for like $20, it’s 6” tall and radio still works fine. I don’t really listen to the radio but it works nonetheless.

LOL. Yeah I definitely need the stubby, add it to the ever growing list of mods. Lift should be in this week but part of me doesn’t want to lift it… it rides straight as an arrow and I don’t want to wear anything out like I did my old 4Runner. Thinking about keeping it as low as I possibly can, maybe 1.5 in the front and just upgrade the shocks in the rear.
