What an absolutely worthless pile of rubbish. I hate it to its very core--the notion that I'm expected to be an incompetent twat that is either blind or too stupid/distracted to not hit what's directly in front of me is insulting.
Today it went off after I merged on the highway. Traffic in the right lane was already packed before I merged and was even more tightly packed once I got on the interstate. About a hundred yards after merging, traffic ahead of me started slowing down. I got on the brakes with them, only for them to decelerate more rapidly, I matched deceleration, they got on brakes harder yet... you get the idea. I was trying not to brake any harder than necessary because traffic was even stacked up even more closely behind me. Well, PCS didn't like this and FREAKED OUT. It was only necessary to scrub off maybe 1-2 mph of closure which I could have (and would have) easily done myself. I guess I crossed whatever threshold is set in the system and it CLAMPED DOWN on the brakes all the way. What's worse is that it didn't just brake enough to eliminate the last bit of residual closure rate, it held them for at least half a second longer than needed. I essentially brake checked the car behind me who had to veer in to the shoulder to avoid rear-ending me. When it let off the brakes, I was probably 10-15 mph slower than traffic ahead of me... what a massive over reaction!!! I'd be slightly annoyed but thankful for the assist if it had activated to merely stop the closure rate, but to abruptly slow down an extra 10-15mph on top of it??--that's ridiculous and dangerous.
I would disable the POS but then I'd be stuck with an obnoxious warning light on the dash all the time. Is there any way around this?

I've had it beep at me, but never actually apply the brakes. 6MT as well.

And yes, I find it obnoxious as well.

I think there’s a way you can set the sensitivity on the PCS. It should be in the owners manual on how to set it. I set mine to the least sensitive setting. I have a 2018 so mine could be different tho.

my tpms light has been on for 6 years...I don't even see it anymore.

But yes...I agree. That system has huge flaws. In your case it proved to be unsafe. And yes, you should be able to do with your truck as you please.

ABS is even better; what a great idea to have the brakes release exactly when you need them. We’re doomed

I'm so glad I don't have any of that.
I was in a loaner RAV4 several weeks ago that had all that crap. Lane departure was the most intrusive nanny BS I have ever experienced in a vehicle.

The ABS in this generation is awful.

PCS worked and still works flawlessly on my truck.

Once, I think it actually prevented me from rear ending someone.

LDA is a completely useless feature IMHO. I forgot I even have it.

    I did...
What should have been a mundane curve in the road, turned into a sphincter clenching moment when the car decides, "hey, I think I'll start understeering in this curve with oncoming traffic".

Mine is great. Turned it down, no intrusive activity or nothing. It has beeped once in two years.
OP, did you know you could turn down the sensitivity? Or are you gonna just stick by your rant....
