I have a 2014 Tacoma Prerunner. I've tried searching for this on other threads and have had no luck with anyone describing my issue.

When accelerating hard from a stop, I hear (for lack of better words) a squeaking noise that sounds like rubber. Initially, I thought my tires were squealing but that's not the issue. I hear this hard, sharp, squeak like noise when I initially accelerate that immediately goes away after I get going. Occasionally, it lasts a little longer and is less of a squeak and more of a thudding growl noise which goes away after I hit 35mph or so. The noise sounds like it’s coming from underneath the truck towards the back.

We're at a loss as to what to begin looking at. Our only thought at the moment is that it could be the center support bearing on the drive shaft going out but we hate to spend the money and time replacing it on a wild guess. Does anyone have any more ideas or thoughts on this? I'm at a loss because no one else seems to have had this same issue.

Does it happen when backing up? Carrier bearing is a somewhat cheap fix . My carrier bearing went out and woulg make noise backing up at low speed.
Now for the other issue it could be a wheel bearing not a cheap fix. Could even be the serpentine belt. Go with your gut and fix carrier bearing 1st. Then move on, maybe mechanic can diagnose for you too many things could bake noise.
    Good luck and welcome.

No, I've never noticed it backing up. It's only been at a hard acceleration.

Drop the driveshaft and check the u-joints. Pretty sure prerunner driveshaft doesn't have zerk fittings so they can't be greased.
