Whoa 2024 Tacoma going to compete with 2024 Stout

    My thought is the current V6 gets “ok” mpg is because of where the peak torque comes on in the rpm range, and the erratic shifting with the ever so slightest change causes the rpm’s to fluctuate wildly. With the turbo it will be lower in the range, and “shouldn’t” shift as much, might gain a mile or three, at least how I drive. Like to keep under 2K while cruising.

    Agreed. The turbo's real advantage for my driving style is the low end torque. Turbo lag doesn't bother me too much as I can learn it and anticipate it and spool it up when I need passing power and so forth.

    Yep, at the age of not much in a hurry these days, and just want to look at that the scenery. Would love a small turbo diesel in a Tacoma, that will never happen. The turbo gasser will have to do. Hybrid max sounds like it will be most diesel like performance wise, unfortunately without the mileage gains.
