    Hey everyone.

Newbie here. I am coming to the experts for advice.

I have a chance to buy a 96 reg cab 4x4 but I'm 6ft 2 and not sure of I'll fit. The truck is quite a ways away from where I live and even for a Toyota is too far to drive not to buy it. And I can't buy it if I won't fit. Unfortunately!!!

    Thoughts ?

I’m 6’1 and fit fine in my reg cab. But it really depends on torso vs leg.

It's less Tacoma and more mod
Im 6'3", mostly just long legs and I can't do it. It's so cramped, tall people are at even more of a disadvantage too because you already sit all the way back so you cant lean the chair at all.

Thanks everyone that replied. I have a feeling I gotta walk away, but I really really really don't want to.

daveeasa I like Tundras, but won't probably ever buy one. No offense. Is first Gen the T-100?

Only way to know is to try. Body proportion is more important than overall ht. Weight is important, and the specific configuration of the truck in question plays a small factor as well.

If you do buy a 1st gen Tundra, FYI, the regular cab with bench seat has the most legroom.

First Gen Tundra is thought by many of us to be the perfect truck.

    https://www.tundras.com/threads/heavy-irrelevance.92497/#post-2332889

Clean T-100’s are hard to find. One or two guys posted some beauties. But that’s a different category of rare.

The cab in my ‘02 Tundra is much bigger than my ‘00 Tacoma was, significantly so, seats 3 across the bench. Exterior dimension wise it’s similar to current gen Tacoma which is very manageable. V8 and RC has an 8’ bed, there is a lot to love. The v6 even had an MT option.

Probably 6” of space between my hair and the headliner, I’m 5’10”

I'm 6' and it's ok for a small truck. My Son is 6'2" (and thin) but has no issues driving it. A friend is 6'2" and a bigger fellow, all he can do to cram himself in the passenger seat. Don't expect the comfort of a full size Chevy. I look at 1st gen like it's my street legal airconditioned ATV.

I replaced my stock seats with LG1 Corbeau seats and gained probably 2" headroom and 1" legroom FYI.
they sit much lower and are a thinner seat.

It really depends on your body proportions. I wheel an 85 regular cab and am 6'3" w/37" inseam. No ergonomics gripes with Honda seats and a 13" steering wheel.

Remains to be seen I bought the tires and wheels the rest came along
Have you checked your local Forum if anyone has that year or close??

The only way to know really is to try!

The way your built is more critical then your overall height.

Me I have tiny legs (28"inseam) my height is in my torso .

    Good luck!

I’m 6’2” and had a 96 reg cab 4x4 and an 01 reg cab 4x2 at the same time. I was never comfortable in either but did love them. Sold both and went access cab. I also had a 00 Tundra regular cab and it was not that comfortable for me either.

6' 5" here, I ran around in a '81 Toyota Pickup for years so I would say it is 'doable' but it isn't comfy. I would question what your intensions are with the truck, daily driver/longer miles regularly in one sitting? Or weekend warrior project truck type deal? If the later, I would say go for it if it is worth the price and no other options. Otherwise I would keep looking for an extended cab

I dunno how you 6 footers drive toyota regular cabs. I'm only 5'8 and was barely comfortable in a tacoma and tundra regular cabs. The seats were always all the way back.
