    Hey all,

To make this quick, I installed a mid travel kit on my 3rd gen, King 3.0 Coilovers made my truck sit even lower than the 2" extension that I bought the truck with. (King-33001-209A)

Does anyone know if they have replacement springs that are extended 1-2" for this specific coilover? King's online website is not set up the best for their springs. I would expect to be looking at springs under the 3" tab but I would rather not buy the wrong stuff if I can avoid it.

Adjust them, they have adjusters on the bottom of the spring seat. You can adjust the ride height up easily.

I did on the bottom it still sits low. I haven't taken the rear 2" spacers out under the leaf springs in the rear and the rear sits higher than these maxed out with the kit.

Did you get the extended Kings?

I got just under 3” lift with about 9 turns. How many lbs does your springs have? 600, 650 etc.

No I got the 3.0's and they don't adjust like that, also there was no option for extended 3.0's on camburgs website. They also didn't have spring weight listed on their website but I was completely stock besides this kit and bigger tires so I just assumed these were stock weight springs, they perform well but the height is a real bummer.
Here is the link to the exact ones I have. https://camburg.com/shop/suspension...-toyota-tacoma-05-3-0-remote-front-coilovers/

Dealing with camburg has been such a nightmare it would take a good 6 months for a proper response.

Maybe the 3” lift height is on the 2nd gens and therefore 2” on the 3rd gen? What is the part number listed on the coil spring?

I’m not familiar with 3.0’s, but with the 2.5’s you have the option of adjusting the preload to get the ride height of your desire. If you can’t get to the ride height with preload without the risk of coil bind, then you have that option of 600, 650, or 700 lb/in coil springs. I do not think you have spring length options unless you do something custom.

I contacted FilthyMotorsports and this was their response,

'Thanks for the email, unfortunately, we do not offer any alternative springs for the 3.0 coilovers as those kits are built for a very particular truck height and truck weight.'

So that's nice, guess i'm just stuck with it.

I use CVJ Axles in Denver, otherwise Dobinson makes a high angle inner and outer boot kit as well. I have the CVJ axle on my tacoma and the Dobinson boots on my 4runner and it has held up really well with a 3.5" lift on the 4runner.

Since you spent a lot of money on that suspension. If there isn't any other options for a heavier (550) spring, then you could always do a 1" body lift to get the looks that you want as well. But I would track down an extended steering shaft coupler for it too. The stock rear bumper can be raised up with spacers and the small crease in the front bumper is hardly noticeable.

I was looking at CVJ in denver, I think im going to buy the Dobinson kit first, because I already spent the money on the extended axles and rebuilt them. Might as well try the >$100 option first before throwing another 700$ into it. I work at an auto shop too so I can just do it all after work. Its just frustrating because I built them, cv boot came off, sent them to a shop, had them redo it, they had the same problem.
So Im going to give it one last try and if not Ill be going the CVJ route and praying.
