This guy was partying at my neighbors house Saturday night 4/29. I captured this the next day driving out of my neighborhood. Someone managed to run over some decorative stones in my yard but I don't feel so bad now.

My little brother snuck out in our parents Toyota Supra one year back in the 80s when they were on vacation. He hit a fire hydrant and tore the front wheel off the car, drove it home on 3 wheels and parked it in the garage. I came home from a night of partying and he was sitting in the living room. First thing he said to me was dad is going to kill us. WTF? US? I asked him what did I do, he said go look in the garage. I immediately went upstairs, packed a bag and left for the next week. Finally called home, our dad told me he knows it wasn't my fault and to come home. Never noticed the smashed mailbox in the gutter. Dad blew a gasket when I got there, blamed me for teaching little brother how to sneak out in the cars. Dad fixed the car, it never aligned right and burnt through front tires. I ended up building a brick mailbox for the next time. Me and my brother still laugh about the mailbox today.

Boy, what a missed opportunity. That stop sign was just waiting for some loving attention.

My third truck (pre-Tacoma days) was a 1968 Chev C10 longbed. "Power-assist" drum brakes all around. Poor aerodynamics was the primary method used to slow the truck. Prayer as in "please God, don't let me hit that car" was the other.

One Saturday morning, I was supposed to have breakfast with a buddy near the county courthouse. I was parallel parking across from the courthouse entrance, in view of a courthouse camera. As I backed in, my tire contacted the curb, and I immediately jumped on the brakes. The brakes' response? "Okay, boss, we'll get to that in a moment." Clunk.

Momentum was not my friend. The bed, which extended 2 feet beyond the axle, collided with a parking meter and left it at an obvious angle. The good news? There was no damage whatsoever to my steel bumper, not even a ding.

As I knew it was caught on camera, when I got home later that day, I reported to the local municipality's "how can we improve our city" webpage that a certain parking meter was no long perpendicular to the ground. And why. And how the city could contact me for repair costs.

I followed up with the city maintenance division a couple days later. Guy taking the call laughed and said he didn't think anyone had ever reported himself before. He then said a crew had straightened the pole with no problem, and there was no charge.

I started parking by "pulling-through" that day.
