Installing the front bolt/nut on the ARB EMU leaf springs and I noticed the bushings were compressing more than usual. Something seemed off and the nut was going on farther than normal as well. It would not torqued to spec without compressing the bushings.

I take off the leaf spring and discover this:

Am I screwed and gonna need to weld in a new bracket or is there a fix for this?

That's the thing, barely any. I know that front bolt is 116ft-lb, I doubt I got more than 80 before I stopped.

Remains to be seen I bought the tires and wheels the rest came along
I am guessing some how you miss placed the washers or had the wrong ones .

The hardware should not be touching the bushing or spring eye at all.

The tension should be on the outside of the hanger holding the spring eye in the hanger which will be a nice snug fit being installed.

Some larger washers will fix your little mishap .

I think most of us manage this at least once.

Thanks, I'm gonna try some grade 8 washers, see if I can rectify my mistake
