Long Crank, Hard Start

Boy, that's a lot of cranking. Mine usually would catch and turn over after about 3 seconds max. I am cautiously going to state that I may have solved/lessened significantly my hard start and bogdown problem two days ago when I replaced the gasket that connects the MAF sensor housing to the air box. It was pretty degraded but I my local auto parts store didn't have a new one when I was cleaning MAF sensor and throttle body, so had put it back on. This time, while I was checking resistance on air temp sensor I noticed the cracked edges and decided to make a new gasket since i have some rolls of Fel-Pro gasket material now. For the last two days she's fired up immediately and hasn't missed a cycle. I will give it a week before I declare victory, but it may be something worth checking out on your rig.

 

I appreciate the recommendation! I'll have to check out the gasket to see how it looks.
