Been averaging 19 mpg for the last 3.5 years. I do a mix of hwy and city with about a half hour of idle a day with AC on full blast.

When it was strictly hwy with no idling it was about 22.

99 ext cab Prerunner, 2.7 auto, 4.30 gear, 171k miles, with heavy Pro comp a/t 265/75r16 on 3rd gen 4runner wheels, and an ARE cap.

Lifetime average 17.48 mpg, 17.66 over the last 12 months almost entirely in-town. High of 25.95 on a 60-65mph road trip, low of 9.22 hauling about 9k lbs of marble in Chicago (yes, in multiple trips o_O). I haven’t done anything resembling a tune up in at least 6 years, and I normally fill up at Costco but will fill up wherever. I see no significant seasonal patterns in mpg variation. Outliers aside, mpg ranges 15-19 regardless of season. That may be due to possible improvements since I made a grille-block for cold weather.

I just did a straight 90 mile blast to the shore and averaged 23.6 down (a little more local that ride) and 24.3 up (90% highway) with wildpeaks. Not too bad for a brick.

3.4L, average 17mpg mixed city and highway...however I have gotten 22mpg while towing a 1,100 trailer with a fully loaded bed going 55-65mph 1,700 miles across 3 states consistently at every fill up.

2000 3.4L 19 -20 avg, 21-22 on all hwy. Switched tires back down to 16’s all season Bridgestone duelers. I try to pay attention to rpms, the sweet spot seems to be 2000 for best mileage. Use Schaeffers or Amsoil on extended oil changes, check and clean the air cleaner once a month sand and dust storms are frequent here.

99 prerunner 4.0Ltr single cab, auto, lifted, 255/85 R16 km3, 4:56, cruz on, AC on, 75 mph, 19 mpg, 225 miles Tampa to WPB, however do 80mph? milage plummets. Basically get the same milage as when the 2.7ltr was installed....work is work, although the v8 doesn’t arrive home with its tongue hanging out.
The trick is keeping rpms below 2500, 2300 to 2350 is 75mph....perfect but not very interesting.
