I wouldn't worry about it too much, I think the Tacoma is a wonderful clutch to learn on. You also don't see much in the way of clutch replacements around here so I will assume its pretty tough.

It won't have any long term affects on the clutch. The accumulator is only there to make clutch engagement smoother, but at the cost of feel. It is more about driver comfort than service life.

Yeah with a new truck that still has the accumulator, I'd think the Tacoma would actually be a pretty easy clutch to learn on.

As long as she has her car in AT to go to work and back, that's all my wife needs. We drive anywhere else, then I'm the one driving anyway.

I told her when I get a sports car (hopefully sometime in my life) that it will 100% be an MT. Not going to spend money on a fun car and then have it be AT and take all the fun out of it! I keep hoping they'll find a way to stick a MT in the C8 by the time I'm ready. The price to smiles ratio on those seems so good!

Of the few vehicles I’ve driven, the Tacoma 5spd seems like the ideal MT learner. I find the 6 tricky enough myself with reverse and first so close. RC also really helps turn radius and overall side / rear visibility to make it easier to develop skills. Hence my fairly irrational decision to buy my ‘05 about a decade before my kids start driving.

My wife doesn’t necessarily agree but her brother does and prefers my wimp truck. I wonder what my kids will think.

I might be in the minority here, but I don't think it's worth the time. I did mine and the difference was not significant.

You like the URD STS? Looks like thats the most popular option. Install seems pretty straight forward

That's why I'm still considering it. That's my question too, if it's worth it.

I know that myself and quite a few others will sing the benefits of removing the adm (I'm a bit biased obviously), but others have no issues with the clutch and as BillyE said some don't notice a difference with it disabled. My guess is some folks naturally have a different pattern moving their foot and doesn't cause conflict with the ADM.

If you feel like the clutch is inconsistent in engagement, or that frequently you feel like you often just get the clutch engagement wrong then it may be for you. If you don't feel that way then quite possibly you drive in a way that doesn't cause conflict with the ADM.

Ok, I probably would not notice any difference with it then.

Ever buy new shoes and the clutch feels a little weird for a bit, Or maybe going from old comfortable sneakers and today you wore big thick work boots, and for the first few times you shift it's just a bit different?

To me that is what the ADM is like for EVERY shift. If you don't feel that way with every shift then it may not be impacting you

I'm a fan of the disk that @Firn makes for bypassing the accumulator. Replacing the shifter for a B&M Precision SportShifter was a game changer. I think they claim a 38% reduction in the throw between gears, but to me it feels more than that. Those two things really improved the driving experience for me.

    Need suggestions
I’m thinking about buying a 6spd OR 2023. Is this a good move? Or is the dealer gonna ask crazy over msrp? I want to order it with zero of the other electronics packages. As bare as possible

You should be able to get one for MSRP, finding one with zero optios will prob be harder

There are a few around with only LED headlights.

The one I have on order has zero options other than LED headlights. I have a purchase agreement for MSRP.
