3d printed repair tabs for the factory LED headlights.

    See thread here
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/3rd-gen-headlight-tab-reinforcement-repair.795768/

These need to be bonded to the factory housing using JB Weld Plastic BOND (Plastic BOND is the only one rated for Polypropylene)

Each kit includes six repair tabs, three for each side, two for the top tabs and one for the lower outside tab. You will need a speed nut for the lower outside tab.

Tabs are 3d printed out of ABS and are near solid. All tabs are black, red was for testing only.

These only fit LED light housings, they will NOT fit the HALOGEN housings. For factory halogen housings please see my other thread.

Interested. So you’re finally able to fine tune this already for the led version?

Yes, at least for the top and outside tab, still working on the "wings" that support the inside behind the grill.

In this case the factory tabs had some angles that were just not lending themselves well to my CAD process and as a result the fit was not as good as I would like.

I will recommend that folks secure these tightly while the glue dries, as you should with any glue, just to ensure the best bond possible. A wood clamp, vice grips, or even wrapping tight with tape, should all work.

When will there be more of these for sale?

There are two sets on the printer right now and I hope to have them up for sale later today.

The listing may go up and down but I plan to keep making these. If I ever decide not to make them I will give the files to Tacoma world so these will never go away completely

Getting close to having repair tabs for the inner "wings" that sometimes get broken

    The large lower tab
    20230616_131540.jpg

Test print started for the smaller tab
    20230616_131458.jpg

Right now these only fit the LED lights but with a few tweaks on my end can be made to fit both halogen and led.

Not sure if I will sell these but if I do or don't I will make these files available to TW so folks can print these themselves.

I have a set without the passenger side fender piece if anyone is interested. That's the one piece I needed. 5 total pieces.

    STLs for the inner "wings".

Recommend only two or three walls and sparse infill as the size and shape gives a lot of strength.

BTW, these wings only fit LED lights, they won't fit halogens.

That said, they are REALLY close and just need some grooves carved out of the stls if anyone wants to tackle it. I had planned to make them fit both lights but never got around to it

Sorry for the lack of availability everyone, that's my fault. It takes about 15 hours to print two sets and with some hardware and software changes to my printer I did not want to run it while we were sleeping or not home (3d printers are a pretty big fire risk).

I should be putting 4 more sets up for sale later today.

Also, the STLs above are only for the inner "wings" on the headlight, not for all the tabs. Unfortunately these parts (the wings) take a very long time to print and would prevent me from printing other items. There are a variety of 3d printing services, including the public library and UPS, and you can also usually find local folks who print for a small fee.
If you wish to use those STLs to print a set of wings I recommend ABS or ASA for the material and 2-3 walls with about 25% infill, anything more is a waste of material IMO.
I glued mine in but they should be a pressure fit and frankly it may be better to NOT glue them in or to do so with very little epoxy. If these were to fail you would want to replace them and if they are heavily glued in that will be very difficult.

Please put me on the list for a set- are you selling off eBay? Can do a PayPal and willing to pay their fee for you. I can PM you my email for PayPal if you want to do that. Thanks!

They are now relisted on ebay, thanks for the patience.

I do prefer ebay just in that they manage the paperwork. They take a chunk of the sale but with my profession there is no skirting the taxes and income reporting so ebay helps manage all of that.

More on the way. Lost a set the other day, 14 hours into a 15 hour job and i had an error that ruined the print. As my setup was not ideal for abs it is getting revamped and moved to the garage, this should let me print more regularly overnight or during the day

This will be awesome for those OEM LEDs that are deeply discounted on eBay for broken tabs. Nice work OP
