2012 front door speakers not working

I have tried to search for an answer, but haven’t found one I understand or that helps.

I have a 2012 Tacoma 4dr 6ft bed. The larger speakers on both the driver and passenger doors do not work. The tweeters on both doors do work.
I just got the vehicle a few days ago and didn’t notice at first. I only noticed when attempting to change factory radio. Two different replacement radios do the same thing, so it doesn’t seem to be the radio itself.

Does anyone have any ideas?

 

Open the door panel and see if they have been removed or disconnected?

If there, verify the speakers by jumping them to some other input source to see if they make sound?

 

Someone before you could have had some speakers in there and yanked them before selling the truck. Or something was done at the harness where the tweeters are located and the doors were never hooked back up at the harness. The harness at the tweeter is also the same plug that feeds your door speakers.

 

If the tweeters work the speakers should also work as they have the same source wiring. Unless someone has modified them.
