hi there, i have a 2003 tacoma that is in need of a new truck bed. Completely rusted out above the wheels wells. Is there a good resource for finding one near the midwest (Indiana to be exact)?

    thanks for any leads!

In a recent thread @Fatal_Paradox mentioned there is a junkyard near Danville KY with a bunch of Tacomas.. https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/1st-gens-fade-away.799534/page-5#post-28679795 Might ask him for their contact info. For what it's worth I have similar rust near the wheel wells and I've cut out the rusty parts and am planning to weld some patch panels into place underneath the hole, level with body filler and then coat everything with Raptor liner.

Here's a pic of the cutout:

that's a good idea, I might look into doing the same. Can I ask how you patched it?

I'm still in the planning phase, so this is a bit theoretical. But I picked up some sheet metal in the same thickness as the bed, and the 18inch metal brake from Harbor Freight. My plan is to grind the coating off of the bottom of the bed around the hole, cut/bend the sheet metal into place, and then either tack weld or use an epoxy/adhesive to adhere the patch to the underside of the bed. Was then thinking I'd use some bondo or body filler to level out the hole, and then give the whole bed the Raptor liner treatment. Would be easier to apply the patch on top of the bed, but I think it would be more visible that way.
