Whats your take on where to start. Wiper motor only works when truck ignition key is in accessory mode. As soon as I go to start truck the fuse blows for the wipers.

Wiring in the column of the steering wheel ?

Have you recently done any wiring work on the truck?

Remains to be seen I bought the tires and wheels the rest came along
Always good to just when these issues started.

Your wipers should not work on accessory .

Unless you have some very interesting wiring I would be looking at your ignition switch.

Only the wiper circuit is not working no other electrical problems??

The Trucks starts and runs fine?

Maybe its not accessory mode its the position right before turning to start.

Yes the only thing ive done was added a 12" light bar in front bumper. But that was over 2 years ago. Wiper just started this issue about 2 months ago

just what year are you working on.

Ok so when you crank the truck the wiper fuse opens ??

What happens if you turn the wipers on after the truck has started? Try this!!!

Something is allowing the starter circuit to draw more then 20amps through the wiper circuit.

Nothing happens when truck is running cause the fuse will be blown .

I can replace fuse and wipers will only work before starting. So if i turn on wiper and turn key to on position they work, but if i start to crank engine it will blow fuse..........also i can start truck let it run ( with new fuse) then turn on wipers it will blow immediately

The fact it works fine with the ignition switch on yet opens with the truck cranking or running points back towards the ignition switch .

The wiper circuit is the only problem ?

Time to break out the meter.

Does your truck have an aftermarket alarm, by any chance? Those things -- and ham-handed installations -- can sometimes play havoc with an electrical system.

Yes thats the only elecrical problem , and has never had any alarm or remote starters .

I guess I'll start by taking off the cowling on the steering wheel column.

(Update) now the fuse blows as soon as i turn the key to on position right before starting.

Use to be able to run wipers with engine not running in the on position of key.

    Any ideas now ?

So i disconected the wire harness plug to the wiper motor then put a new fuse in with key in off position then turned key to on position then the fuse blew.

Dont even have wipers turned on inside truck
