About a month back I was headed into work when a u-joint failed and my rear drive shaft dislodged. Got hit with an initial estimate of $867.....but luckily no one pulled the trigger on my old red truck so I pulled the drive shaft from the parts truck and saved $740! Buying back that truck pays off yet again!

This had been the first time I really did any significant wrenching since getting back from deployment becuase of a Jiu Jitsu warpath/fighting internationally in London and Italy....and what does that naturally do?...Sparks the fire again haha

By now you all know how I'm @IvanhoeTaco 's sloppy-seconds parts sloot, he had some cherry Icon Stage-3 RVT leaf springs that I bought off him.....crazy noticeable difference even after running Gen 3 springs plus added another inch of clearance to my departure angle. Then swapped for blacked out housing heads/tails

The infamous P0430 / P0420 codes decided to pay me a visit. Bought a code reader (A must...kinda ashamed I went this long without one).
Did some research and found out that the 02 sensors by the Cats can be:
    Denso 234-4260 (Passenger side)
    Denso 234-4261 (Drivers side)

    $48 Denso 234-4260 Oxygen Sensor
    http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00199FBQY?redirect=true

    $52 Denso 234-4261 Oxygen Sensor with 4-Wire 10” Harness for Lexus/Toyota V-6 Downstream Left/Front

I went as far as using cat clean
    https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B07N7RZ5ZV?ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title
For the record you can do this job with just a 23mm wrench if you disconnect the sensors and run the closed end around the wire. I bought the special socket and becuase of the tight space only used it for ease of reinstallation really fast. Job took 20mins...90% was trying to losen the corroded sensors.

UPDATE: It was the driver side cat converter

Side note: Bought a 3rd Tacoma....lil '03 single cab prerunner that's longtraveled out. Details to follow BUT this allows the 2011 to take breathers/less mileage, get actual maintenance done, and not have me puzeee-footin around on trails in fear of hurting my DD.

A LOT has happened. Re-negged my life decisions on the red truck wanted to restore it lost hope wanted to sell it, no one wanted to deal with it for the asking price, so NOW I'm dropping the Diffs out that have ARB airlockers...putting those in the '11 Razor Crest, regearing to 5.29 after this recent adventure to Uwharrie I've also decided that the supercharger will stay and eventually get slapped in the truck......screw it man! Can't get the price/smoothness of a transaction that I want and I can afford it.

That sets conditions to swap the current 4.0 V6 that is in the '11 Razor Crest right now and slap that into the '03 Long Traveled yote
(Been meaning to blog this for a while haha)

    Uwharrie Trip May 2023
It was a blast, only casualties were my CV axle boots. Already ordered the All Pro Long Travel boots.

Everything went grate, we camped out, I used the bed set up, Sliders kept the cab from scraping, the thousands I've invested in recovery equipment all paid for itself when we had to help a Suzuki Samauri

Front diff/ARB locker is out. Taking them to Low Range to ship off to ECGS

    20230510_180351.jpg

    Cost of the Uwharrie trip:
    $156 in Gas
    $5 OHC Day Pass
$80 in food, energy drinks, and beer
    Hi-Lift Jack Plate $44
    Driver Side Wheel Bearing $76 + $348
CV Axle Boots $86 (Still have to put them on....going to do the slip mod/long Travel length in addition to getting some emergency prp utv over-boots for the time being)

Then today I swapped rims to my old 18x10" -25 Deep offset Ultra Crushers, didn't want to stick with the Spacers as I had noticed an interior walking lug nut and seeing how a Suzuki Samaurai walked itself off its own lugs I'm not gonna take that risk

I think the route I'm going to go when it comes to the camper set up is a soft topper and these bed bars:
    https://heavymetaloffroad.com/produ...er-bed-bar-21-inch-3-set-heavy-metal-off-road
Then I'm going to sell my deck system and look at getting two tan Pelican 1740 cases instead.

Love the camper/deck system but it's a lot of weight and I'm cool with sleeping on the ground given my job.

Two main driving factors: Uwharrie campsites have to be occupied, if you have a system like mine or an RTT you drive off with your tent/domicile...next is I'm getting super annoyed with not being able to put tall awkward items in my bed, collapsing a soft topper and being able to weave say a squat rack or wheel barrow (Both issues I've run into) will be possible again. Then if I absolutely don't want to be on the ground I'll use my mattress system on top of the 1740s and suck it up like a buttercup

Ordered my Nitro Gears 4.88 kit from @EastCoastGearSupply Do NOT hesitate to work with those dudes! SUPER helpful, and they gave me a Military discount. Got an appointment scheduled for Gears, F/R Lockers, Compressor and new CVs w/All Pro LT boots for this monday. ECGS talked me into 4.88s as they've got a 4runner rigged out with the same sized rubber, on top of the 5.29s not being thick enough to be compatible with ARBs in a 2nd gen apparently. Good to know becuase I would've been way sad to get the package tomorrow and have it not workout for me.

The plan is to break in the diffs every evening after install until the memorial day trip as well as on the way to Uwharrie, then drain the diffs/refill them to avoid any issues.
