Well, it ain't pretty, but it works. We dont have the special tool to pressure test the fuel tank. But some pipe fittings, a Schrader valve, and an expanding freeze plug get ya there just the same20230518_150855.jpg

Remains to be seen I bought the tires and wheels the rest came along
They were pretty popular in my area growing up.

i was hauled around in them quite often.

Though it does comedown to just who paid to have the house built.

    Money does do wonders.

I have lived in 150 year old houses no floor was level .

If 2 windows were the same size it was by chance.

They were under the floorboards between the frame and the rocker panels.

The Chev trucks had the tank in a similar position, a bit farther back, with the fillers on each side of the bed.

I didn't feel as run down today after work so I took that mower deck a little farther apart; blades off, belt/spindle guards. I sure can't tell if any bearings are bad and I even spun the spindles up with my impact (without major hammering) to see if I could get one to show itself bad. No luck. I cleaned off bottom sides off bolts and spray a little foo-foo on them. That suspect center spindle did seem to have a little more drag whilst spinning.

Then dinner was ready just as the rain came.
    Good for one evening. :anonymous:
I plan to crawl underneath the mower and inspect primary drive belt and associated parts before going any further or ordering parts. I would think the the spindle with two pulley on it would carry more load than the others but then again...uh..that center spindle might have a few less grease through the years...being a farther reach and all:D:anonymous:

I can't think of the material name at the moment but have had to make some clear pipe with that then had the end caps welded on (glued might be better term) but a guy in our chemistry department made up some concoction that worked well.
Probably way different material, I remember now the material I worked with some type of acrylic.

I have an available 4x8 sheet 1/4 thick that I want to cut up and rearrange the pieces. I'm hoping I can cut this easier with a skill/band/table saw.

I saw a pastic welder at Harbor Freight that got me thinking about welding it vs epoxy/glue.

I guess my main question is if I cut small "rods" from the main piece, can I use them with the plastic welder or are there better options.

I had to cut some radius on the smoke lenses for Corvette project and the band saw did a terrific job. I believe a table saw with good carbide would work well for strips...little more material loss.

More like overpaid lazy workers…. We sat and calculated what our kids cost us… $450K
That’s daycare, school, college to finally out the house. Worth every penny, but man that’s a whole other house or some damn fine vacationing!

My experience is somewhat similar to aluminum - use wax as blade lubricant and welding is more finesse. I think chemical bond is probably better.
