Not sure what’s gonna happen to my truck.

    back to bone stock.
I was hit by a drunk driver today. My first time under these circumstances.
I was at a slight loss. It’s not like you can exchange info with the other driver when first responders are wrestling him out of a car.
I’m gonna look at my truck in the morning. It’s off. My cap topper doesn’t fit square anymore. Something is tweaked and frankly, I’m to rattled to worry about it. I have my uninsured coverage, so I’ll be fine. I bet my truck bed is rhombus shaped.
I get an accident report. Hopefully it can fill in some blanks.

I’m thrilled to not be hurt. I’m slightly stiff, but I’ll watch for other symptoms.

My poor truck. We’ve been together for a long ass time.

You will be able to get the other driver’s name and info from the police report. Make the claim through your insurance and then give them the other driver’s info when you get it. When I got hit on my motorcycle and took an ambulance ride to the hospital it was a fairly simple process to get the info later and give it to my insurance who then went after her insurance for damages.

Go to a doctor and get a checkup - tonight would be a good start. If there is any, soft tissue damage to your back or neck will cause more pain within a day- not immediately after the accident.

Curious- Did your airbags go off?
Was the other guy resisting assistance or arrest or did he have to be extricated from the damaged vehicle?

glad you’re OK, take care of yourself first before your truck!

Shit man! That sucks big time. Hopefully you don't have any lingering injuries and hopefully you get a good payout from insurance and can get a good upgrade:thumbsup:

If you're stiff now, it'll be worse tomorrow. Be sure to visit a doctor, even if you think it's minor.

I agree with the others, get yourself checked out by a medical professional. Then, if you do have more serious injuries, I would contact an injury attorney before talking to the other parties insurance co.

Hope everything turns out okay for you.

I feel your pain man. I got skid into and pushed into a pole and totaled my 6spd 08 DC a couple months ago and I was heartbroken but a few weeks later I bought a way cleaner 2010 so it'll all work out for you eventually

So sorry to hear. Glad you’re not majorly hurt but like everyone else is saying, get checked out asap.

I hope the other guy takes this as a chance to dry out.

Good luck to you and your truck.

    Go to the Dr.

    Now.

My daughter just had 2 lumbar herniated discs repaired which were most likely initially damaged in a 1998 head on accident. She was 19 and just felt sore.

3 kids later and in subsequent years her vehicles have been hit 2 more times. She also needs neck fusion.

    Go to the Dr.
