The bigger bed is why I wanted to trade. But at this point I’ll pay it off and wait for the 4th gen to have a few years on its belt and look at my options then.

since the 3 pedals are still coming, I’m hoping for that sweet ACMT combo.

While we're dreaming, how about RC MT? :)

Know what? If you have a friend with AC or you can lock your wallet in a safe or something, go sit in the back seat and play with the doors some. it's nice in some respects for loading with the passenger seat full forward. But I realized when playing around with the AC interior that I really didn't like it, with or without the seats. It's big enough that it takes up real usable space but not organized to my liking where that space would be used for more than a backpack. I also didn't like how the AC windows look. That session, back in 2020, made me realize DC was the better choice, though I'm still a big fan of RC trucks.

What I think would truly be ideal is RC with the Rivian tunnel for gear, or RC EV with a frunk.

I think DCSB does look pretty good though and works for hauling people and some light gear. It's a way to get places but it's not light and nimble like a RC is.

Toyoguard is not at all like a ceramic coating. It’s a fake Southeast Toyota region $700 add-on. Some fake spray they supposedly spray on the seats and a couple other truly worthless things.
Yeah, if it’s ceramic glass tint, that is probably totally worth it at half the cost of what they probably charged. Or if it’s a ceramic paint coating, that can be worth it at likely half the cost of what they charge, but the problem with ceramic coatings is that there are so many levels of quality and it’s hard to tell which one is which. You can ask but they probably don’t know and/or will lie about it rather than find out or tell you that it’s a crappy one. Also if it’s not installed properly, then you have issues as well. But yeah, I installed ceramic coatings on my vehicles because I think it’s great as long as you know what you’re getting.

Pricewise that’s a pretty good deal in my opinion. I had a 02 Prerunner Access cab, I loved it however, I was in Florida no snow there.

And he is already getting near Kelley Blue Book private party value anyway. Last time I sold a car private party that’s all people quoted and were wanting to pay even though there were some very significant factors that Kelley blue book wasn’t taking into consideration, and wasn’t able to.

Nothing bad about that deal on paper.

I wouldn’t sell your existing truck.

Good call. You’ll have greater leverage by waiting, and the truck won’t depreciate all that much anyway. Plus at that time you can consider probably the best option, which is to keep the same truck w/o a payment.

Actually you're exactly right about what it is, but the SE Toyota overpriced $700 add-on is called Toyoguard Platinum. It adds a year to the basic ToyotaCare free maintenance, 2 more oil changes, and exterior paint sealant and "interior protector". It is not even close to a ceramic coating. That might actually be worth what they charge for it.

I despise KBB. NADA seems to provide better real world value. Recently sold a BMW. KBB was about $5k less because it didn't allow pricing for many of the options. Dealer was holding fast to the KBB price because they know it was low. I turned it back on them as I have had done to me when I quote KBB. "Since when does KBB buy cars?" They didn't appreciate it.

    That’s reasonable. I don’t like dealers who
act like they are required BY LAW to pay the bluebook value.

Agreed. If a dealer is begging to buy my truck or get me in a new one then, bitch pay up

OP, I love my 4 cylinder, 5 speed access cab. Like you, I don't need passenger space in the rear seat and use the full bed regularly. My only pass would be giving up the 3 pedals. I just can't bring myself to do it and like daveeasa said up above 'decent recipe for disappointment'. Wait for the 4G in the manual access cab.

I didn’t even realize there was two extra oil changes. At least there’s actual value in that.

Yeah, that’s what I was talking about. When we sold our Audi, they didn’t have an option for an S-line diesel. It was either one or the other. Both very significant factors in the price, especially to people who are into that.
Dealers and most people treat KBB as gospel

I'm not sure how much of a value those are. During my "free" oil change a couple of months ago whatever kid they had doing it put the oil filter access door back on upside down on my TRD skid plate. The front of it was actually protruding down towards the road instead of curving with the skid plate. Glad I caught it and made them put it back on right before I tore the damn thing off!

I took a shot at these coatings after being recommended by others that have them here....Felt at the discount I was able to negotiate, for $650 it was fair vs others. You're right on the levels of quality they're applied. I feel lucky I had a shop that did a great job as it comes down to the guys in this shop that did the actual work.
