Same here, there’s a LOT I love about my OR but these new trucks are going to need a few years to iron out the wrinkles. A S/C looks appealing right now.

Everyone ooohhs and aaahhs over the Pro and Trailhunter but do they really make any sense if they are $10-15K more than an off-road? Then you also will have the insane dealer markups for a new and “rare” vehicle. It’s all just a bunch of bolt on parts anyways. Save the money and buy what you actually want for add on parts. Even better buy a Frontier and use the huge many you save to buy a new side by side or a used Wrangler for off-roading.

I prefer to individualize them anyhow. The Pro is "ready to go". Lot of SR5 folks out there really made their trucks POP and they look better than a stock PRO.

But... This is my last new truck purchase (I'm 50 so it should last till 80). I want leather and a moonroof. lol.. Just not a power tailgate or shock seats. I am hoping the Sport gives me what I need.

Oh yea, and Hybrid for the win for sure. I LOVE my RAV4 Hybrid!

Worth mentioning, for sure, added that in next to electronic power steering and also the 4" longer wheelbase, stuff most people likely will be happy about.

I'm 5'9" and sit probably 3/4 of the way back. I've had several buddies ride in the back comfortably. Not as comfortably as a full size or SUV, but way better than other vehicles I've owned. Although, to be fair, those include a Mustang and a GMC Canyon extended cab.

At least people won’t compressed their spines when they try jumping it. The truck will be trashed, but the occupants should be a-ok! We hope! Holy shit…can they get anymore gimmicky?

I think the Trailhunter would be. The amount you'd spend in aftermarket to build an OR to be like a Trailhunter would likely set you back between $8-10K. So for some, it's better to just buy it already built up.

I have 3,600 miles on my Gen 3 that is less than a year old. I bought it due to all the rumors of the Gen 4 being something I wouldn't be interested in based on those rumors.
I have to say, I like the new Gen 4 a lot and if I didn't already have a the one I have, I would likely be losing sleep over trying to decide if I want to buy the first year model and deal with potential issues that would need to be sorted out.
Toyota has done a great job overall and unless prices are crazy high on the TRD models, I think the Tacoma will continue to be the #1 mid size truck for some time to come.

The current gen pros made sense because a fully loaded off-road was only like 2k difference. Now when you could negotiate 4K off pre pandemic then maybe not but recently pro made way more sense especially with resale. You’ll never get your money back on a frontier like a Tacoma.

Agreed but as far as OEM set ups, I think Toyota upped their game by offering more configurations for those that want the Ala carte menu.

Solid offering IMO, but of course they need to make their cake too.

The thing about the price and dealer markups is that this is only possible because people are paying it. Those that pay $70k for these trucks are insane but it's basic supply and demand. I hate it.

    A couple trivial questions
    1. I couldn’t tell but any word on if the back window is still the small square or do we get the option like the tundra where the whole window goes down?
    2. Do we think the colors shown (red, blue, bronze and white) will be the only colors available or do we think they might have a grey or special edition PRO color?

I love the PRO but if the cost is what everyone is anticipating I’ll end up with an OR or Sport. It just has a bunch of stuff I’ll never utilize for the cost.

So looking at the website the pro, off road, limited and sport are not available in a 6ft bed option.

I actually didn’t realize my truck had hydraulic power steering. Is there an advantage to electric power steering? All the enthusiast car videos I watch paint electric power steering as a bad thing with numb steering feel.

Has anyone seen whether or not the new Tacoma will have the turn signal cameras? That’s one of my favorite features about my wife’s Telluride and my daughter’s Santa Cruz. When I’ve been driving one of them and then get back in my Tacoma, I look at the dashboard after turning on the turn signal looking for the camera view. It’s a great safety feature. It looks like the new Tacoma will have plenty of cameras although I can’t tell if there is one on each rear view mirror for this feature.
