Also, Annie (wife) is on to me. She saw my engine hoist I recently picked up sitting in the yard and was like "What's that?"
    Me "what what?"
    "That tall thing outside"
    "it's an engine hoist"
    "What's it do?
    "it hoists engines"
"I think you better slow down on the tools..."

Well the hard part is done getting the fans mounted. I’ve heard good things about the auto cool guy controllers as well, that’s probably the route I’d go and then try to come up with some custom bracket to jam it in there lol
    You planning an engine swap?

Are you going full efan eventually? I don't want to go full efan but mostly just want better air conditioning than I've been getting. And I don't know if I can justify an Autocoolguy controller rated at 55 amps (their smallest option) for two 3 amp auxiliary fans.

I've purchased a mostly complete core engine for a pretty good price that I haven't seen yet as it's in another town a couple of hours away. Supposed to be in good shape and it'll be coming soon enough and I'm in no hurry.

Plan to slowly round up cool, expensive forged parts and goodies, tear down engine, sprinkle some witchcraft and wizardry and swap it someday. None of this is happening in the immediate future though.

Wired up the Bussman to the Aux fans and made sure they were spinning in the proper configuration as pusher fans but still have to wire up the in cab switch. Still thinking about an auto cool guy controller for one of the fans.

Engine bay extra dirty because half my engine splash guards self destructed from age and prior removals.

BPF panel in place and my hood prop now resides in the cab of the truck and I just pop it into place for when I need a hood prop as the panel doesn't allow it to fold down.

Accusump gauge peeking out from its hiding spot, gives me a visual indication to make sure it's working properly.

This thing is pretty handy and I might start keeping it on the truck at all times. Folds up flat when not in use.

This morning the potentiometer and knob for my heater temperature control decided to fall out. Tried putting it back in but the tabs that held the pot together snapped when I tried to fold them back into place. Solution was to glob a bunch of solder on the case and top part to hold everything together. Put it all together and it works!
    PXL_20230519_164601866.jpg

Funny thing happened with this part, which is the fan speed selector. When I popped the top contact section off I took a pic of what I found. Put it all back together and the rotary switch had no clicks. Took a moment to figure out but it turns out that where the ball is sitting is a little ramp that you shove the ball down to where it actually is supposed to reside to give the rotary switch its detents. It must have popped into the ramp like in the pic when I took everything apart.

Cool! No pun intended. Interesting problem but just like welding, the more gobbed the better

Also, I'm loving the way the truck is looking with the lift and tint. Only sucky thing with the tint is backing up at night and I had to roll down windows to see out the side mirrors hahaha

Sorry i didn't see this reply Russ! Man i'm kinda in the same boat as you. I love the reliability of my clutch fan, but it definitely leaves some performance to be desired at idle with the AC on. Mine will even start creeping up hotter and hotter to over 200*F if i am idling there with the AC blowing. It eventually gets warm and the truck won't cool off until i'm moving again. Granted that is in the Texas summer heat but that's my one complaint on the clutch fan.

That sounds like a great plan to me. I will be doing something similar and trying to piece most of it together myself. Do you have a larger radiator on your truck? and what are you coolant temps like regularly around town and on the highway?

This looks like a game changer for a lifted truck. Those top side creepers are cool too, been wanting one of those.
I need to call them. I gave them my CC number but they still havent charged it lol. Hopefully i really did talk to someone at kelford. Do you have any pics of the goods?!

I haven't payed close attention to my temps yet and I just installed the larger Mishimoto radiator. In the process of wiring some connectors to my cup holder switches so I can remove/install that stuff easily without having to pull a dozen individual wires apart.

Haven't opened them yet but two boxes delivered separately. One with springs, which I peeked into but I never opened the cam box yet.

I used my topside creeper once for my red bullet solonoid install and it was handy. The one that hangs off the tire is nice and quick for side access over the engine and will be handy for roadside checks.

Just installed some cheap Amazon female weatherproof connectors so I can remove my interior housing around the shifter easily by pulling the cup holders up and then undoing two connectors.
    PXL_20230601_030331969.jpg

The six wire connector will have:
    -fused power from the Bussman
    -ground
-switches 1-4 for whatever accessories I want to use a switch. These switch wires from the female connector are all the same length so I can connect any of the wires (relays) to any particular silly switch I desire.

The two wire connector will have:
-dimmer circuit positive and ground wires. I bought an extension harness for those and previously ran the wires to just under the HVAC controls and left them for future use.

The connector kit had zero instructions and I had to find a YouTube video to figure it out. Female and male pins, female and male connectors, wire seals and weird little orange (pin plates?) made nothing about these connectors intuitive. But they were pretty easy with the video and cheap amazon specialty crimpers meant specifically for these types of connectors.

I seem to have a habit of installing multiple mods at the same time where it becomes impossible to quantify the effects of the individual mods.

My gears were finally breaking in around the time I did the solonoid install so essentially everything was different right when I was able to start driving hard.

Did you not install yours yet?

Been keeping my son Owen busy this weekend as Annie is working on report cards so for an exciting Friday night after putting kiddo to bed I worked on my truck for a couple hours. Retorqued my ubolts and leaf spring hardware, chased the threads for my skid plate with a tap and installed new bolts as the old ones had seen better days. Installed two new fan clutch nuts to replace the two lost ones.

Then finished off the evening by installed new Ark engine splash guards to replace the stock ones (both sides had only half a guard remaining). Fed a few mosquitos in the process. Hopefully my dirty engine bay stays a little cleaner now.
    PXL_20230610_161707842.jpg

Finally found Bolts to mount the engine to the stand from Amazon. I went to three different hardware stores but metric Bolts in that size were not even a stock item. Hopefully will get the engine mounted to the stand soonish. Got a quote for the darton install and it wasn't as bad as I expected but I am required to have the new pistons for final honing so it will require me to buy the stroker kit first. So I'm gonna have to do an Onlyfans or save money for a bit before proceeding. #slowestbuildever

Today me and Owen are enjoying the summer weather, went to a pump track on the bikes, which was a blast and currently at a splash park. Been ripping around in the taco lots and the truck is feeling really good.
