My 3rd Gen has done nothing but go up in value (to me) since I bought it. Happy Friday lol

Tacoma holds its value no matter the generation, this won't magically change with 4th gen release.
That said, I like the idea of 33's stock but don't like the idea of a turbo 4, even from Toyota.

How has your truck gained value since you bought it?

I think it's always going to be 1st gens and current generation trucks which ever gen it happens to be at the time, that will hold the most value.

Ah 1st gen, my true love. Less of them around every day, drives the price up for sure.

I don't think it will happen but if this turbo 4 drivetrain ends up being bulletproof, 3rd gen values will eventually suffer as there will be no benefit to owning the older design. People aren't going to pay the Toyota reliability premium used priced if the current offering are better in every aspect.

Or if the 4th gen frame is the first to not rust in half, then we are all in trouble.

I still don’t understand why people continue to think turbos aren’t reliable. Worst case you blow a turbo and bolt a new one on…. A lot cheaper than the 3rd gen top end issues.

What are the non Tacoma Toyota trucks that go for the highest dollar amount? What ever that trend is will probably carry over.

Expect when they send metal shaving directly into the engine and essentially destroy the entire motor.

Yes and they're both Toyota engines. One is smaller and forced induction... call it personal preference.

They really have a lot to get right, all new truck, lots of configuration, lot of accessories, and those pesky supply chain issues. How long will customers be waiting for their 1st keyfob after purchase? Seriously Toyota needs to get trucks to dealers so people can buy them, I'm not really into the ordering a new vehicle business model. Not from Toyota, where you can't custom order a vehicle to begin with.

How is ordering an `A la carte Toyota supposed to work? Has Toyota thought this through? They'll probably sell every truck they build, but how are you supposed to get the truck you want?

Toyota was holding back production to keep the supply/demand high and charge MSRP. Other manufacturers are picking up production much more quickly, hence the big rebates across the board besides toyota.
Stop buying Toyotas for a bit and they will stop the BS

Toyota shenanigans are what drove me to other manufacturers. Not that they don't have their own shenanigans. Toyota is the best by far at alienating customers, it does not seem to cost them sales so not buying their products might not do much.

A lot of people will really like the new Tacoma, it looks like Toyota actually listened to what their customers wanted and brought a lot of it to the new model.
