Hey, I have seen this HU mentioned in various posts and got an email earlier that this is on sale for $1,198.00. Personally, I have an interest in the HU for the camera options and a number of others. Though I find it also interesting they are going on sale which makes me wonder why they are clearing inventory. Maybe something new in the works? Either way looks like a deal many may be interested in.

I just purchased this at full price 2 weeks ago!! I emailed for a price adjustment. I haven't even installed it yet either, at least their return policy is fantastic

 

I have this in my truck and it is bad ass. Even works with the 360 birdseye camera.

 

I know it's badass!! I'm going to install mine tomorrow even if I don't get my price adjustment. I'm so excited to install

You're correct. TGP is the best place to purchase this if you're looking for plug and play

 

Looking at this kit, I already a fired off email to TGP, Curious of a couple things

• The Mic when replaced into the OEM spot. Does it sound as good, or better than OEM?
• How close to the dash can you push it in. I dont mind the tablet look, but I dont want it to stick out super far to look clearly aftermarket.
• Is the Anytime camera mod compatible with this? IE the switch to make it go to front/rear without going to the headunit and turning it on and off?

I have this and the anytime f/r camera kit sitting in my cart in another open window, just deciding whether or not to hit the PayPal button.

 

I just finished installing my 9500 today and here's a couple observations.
If you use Toyota remote connect on your phone, it's not going to work with this (or any aftermarket head unit)**update** remote connect is now working, I'm guessing it took sometime to connect.
The sound is crisp and clear and the screen is fantastic!

 

Awesome news! I can live without Toyota. Connect app. I use n2 for remote start anyways.

glad to hear the sound is clear! The thing that drove me nuts about the oem mic is there was always a feedback sound other people could hear like a ground loop of sorts. My fathers Tacoma had the same thing.

how tight were you able to get yours to the dash?

 

Update... Remote connect is working... Maybe it needed time.

The position you have it put at, could it go back further? And do you happen to have a picture of it from the side? Like normal viewing angle? Not a lot of pictures of these in our trucks.

 

Are you able to toggle the front camera when not in reverse? Why wife may like this feature pulling into the garage--me too.

Yep. The camera view button works the exact same as it does with the factory head unit.

Finally stopped debating and took the plunge
Now I can't wait for it to get here. Already have an amp and shallow mount sub in a box that will fit behind the rear seat, changed out the door speakers and tweeters a long time ago. It will be nice to have a decent sounding stereo and carplay again.
