First decent mod I did to mine. Let me know if you need anything including which YouTube vids to watch. I spent way too much time on it the first time cause I didn't use the right tools :facepalm:A lot of people were doing an add a fuse but there's a 12v source already in the head unit you can splice the camera into for power. Definitely helpful when you don't have @pearing around to guide you.

The Airbnb was a 4 hour 20 minutes drive from my house and I was exploring up to an hour and a half away from the Airbnb at times.

Thanks for the pics. Since I don't have bolts from a rack to work with, I'm thinking some kind of 3M hooks adhered to the cap. May have to do some sanding to get a flat enough spot...Milwaukee 4 1/2 with a flapper wheel...

Multiple ways to skin this cat. I guess my wording is sucky, sorry ahead of time lol The red wire coming off the front camera feed is the one that can get spliced to the two green wires from the override harness and the switch(There we go, I got turned around). That in turn provides power from the head unit. Diagram.jpg

This guy explains it the best (5:52) and it still lacks some details. https://youtu.be/SJ4mhopxuPY

I know it's making my head hurt again thinking about it. But once you figure it out it's just a matter of either butt-splicing or soldering everything together and running it through the way you want. Definitely recommend the heat shrink butt splices over soldering and more heat shrink on top of the RCA connections. I had a blank right by my ECT button and used that. Most like to use the area by the rocket squid switch.

 If I'm being completely honest, it was my first ever "serious" electrical project. I cussed up and down but eventually got it done. If I can do it, anyone can. Just need a good set of crimpers/strippers, some heat shrink, butt connectors, a heat source, and a lot of patience.

Trash dealership. Find a new place to go. But also you can do this mod in your driveway, no sweat.

Some of the newer trucks come with this .... :D (premium package, maybe?)

Wanted to say thanks to @WiscoPat for helping continue the motto of this thread aka encouraging spending. I've wanted a better way to organize things in my drawer system. Turns out those Crashpad organizers fit my drawer dimensions nearly perfect. Lots of options on the market but these were the only ones that accidentally fit what I already have going on (though a little short but should puff up higher when full of gear). Cheers mate!

I've been quiet lately compared to ususal because school plus full time work is kicking my ass. 5 hours in class after working 8 hours and driving a combined 3 hours makes Wedsnesdays no fun and screws with the rest of my week. Also got an eye infection which doesn't help with welding lol. Getting better on second day, now I actually have a tiny bit of knowledge on what I am supposed to be doing so it's only going to improve. 1F lap joints on 1/8", top one ain't so bad, ignore that bottom guy I was screwing with settings and there was a ton of heat in the coupon already from beads on the other side done in rapid succession.

Planning to do some Taco maintenance this weekend, have either a bad wheel bearing or something else growling in front driver axle area which is no bueno. Next trip is coming up quick, eh?

I know a place to get quality wheel bearings if you need some.

What's the hook up? These ones I have were from TW member 05Taco4x4 with the higher quality Japanese bearings and only 30k miles old give or take. I still have to crawl under and diagnose a bit but open to suggestions. Was going to pick up a Napa unit if I need one on short notice as those are supposed to be halfway decent.

I'm not sure yet if it's even bearings but it sure sounds like one, might be my CV axle or even a bad tire (and hopefully not something else). I probably caused it, all started after messing with that poser rock on Dugway Road lol.

My second gen I also put on a set of his bearings and the the guy who bought it from the dealership after I traded it in said in the Facebook for sale post when he was selling it that he replaced both bearings and he only put on about 30 or 40,000 miles as well so I don't think his bearings were as great as they were talked up to be.

I was kinda kidding when I said that but ya I got bearings from 05taco a couple years ago and have not had a problem with them.
