Should I stick with 16s on my 2019 Toyota Tacoma or upgrade to 17s or 18s? Looking for opinions and thoughts. Currently have the original 16s on truck. Got some brand new OEM Tundra Tires and rims for dirt cheap but they don't fit around the hub of the tacoma even though they ate 6 lug. Also I have Bilstean shocks and springs from a TRD. I put the shocks on the back but not the front yet. Would it be good to replace my SR5 shock and spring in the front with the Bilstean from a TRD? Thanks for any advice.

Keep your 16 inch wheels and yes swap out the shocks.

As far as wheels go, as side from aesthetics, there seems to be more tire options in the 17s. I went up to the 17s because a lot of the sizes I was looking at in the 16s were only available in load range E. If you do a lot of off-roading, E range may work for you. For me, I was trying to balance ride quality and MPGs as well.

Nah I won't be going off road too much but I was looking at a more aggressive look as well as ride quality and mpg. I like the 16s but they feel too small.

17 and 18 inch wheels are only an upgrade if a larger diameter wheel aligns with your goals which I think is generally simply aesthetics. There is one practical reason to switch to 17” wheels and that is the larger number of tire options.

There are definitely more tire options for 17" wheels. Personally, I'd stick with the 16" just so there's more tire to help absorb on road/off road rough terrain, etc.

The Bilstein's are a much better shock, unless they're worn. I love my 16's, but there are more choices with 17's, not sure about 18's.

I have upper control arms from a TRD also. From reading, I can't determine If I should change those out also. Do you have any thought on those 20230514_075601.jpg

I honestly dont know if they are the same size or not. Sorry can't help you there.

As far as changing to 17's it really depends are why. I absolutely love my 16" Duratracs, but they dont make them in a 255/85/16 A/T tire, so I'm forced to go to a 255/80/17 to get the 33" tires I want. It's now a bigger cost that I really didn't want to spend, when I have perfectly good 16" rims. Something I've been mulling over for quiet awhile.

There's a guy on YouTube I watch called tinkers adventure, he has alot of great information about fitting bigger tires that I haven't found anywhere else. I wish I had watched his stuff before I bought my wheels.
