Ahh cool, I thought the weather and the surroundings looked familiar. I thought "really looks like Big Island". I mean of all the islands, we have a wide range of terrain i.e. desert, beach, lava, snow, mud, etc.
FWIW, I really like the new look and sounds like it's got a bunch of cool features, depending on the model. I'd buy it if I needed a new truck, but I don't. I love my truck.

My only complaint is the engine sound. I guess we have to accept that trucks will no longer sound like trucks.

Tacoma sounds like a WRX looks like a Hummer. I really can't stand the popping exhausts on mediocre cars, which are more common than the popping exhausts on nice well built cars. 4th gens are going to be a mix of the two.

Born on Oahu and moved to Washington State four years ago - always had Toyota trucks, including six Tacos, a 4Runner and a Tundra.

One difference is "Servco Hawaii", they had a monopoly on Toyota, I remember pricing was high and they did not have the same model, color and option selections as mainland dealers.
Didnʻt stop me from purchasing and enjoying five Tacoma trucks before I moved, here I purchased a 20ʻ Tundra through Costco for towing a Lance RV trailer. Replaced that with a 22ʻ DCLB SR5 after selling RV trailer.

FYI - like the 4th Gen and wouldnʻt mind a hybird DCLB SR5, but looks like they might not be available the first year.
