Hi all. I have been researching Tacoma info, as I have a 2004 that I loved. However, I recently discovered the rusty frame issue. When I bought the Vehicle in 2014, I noted a little rust and the dealer "undercoated" the Toyota, never advising me of the recall. So I thought, problem solved. I was unaware of the bigger issue or the recall on the frame. But recent repairs have brought it to light. Other than the rust issue, it runs well and only has 150000 miles on it so I thought it would last many more years. Now I am wondering if I can sell it for parts, or if someone would want to buy it and repair the frame. Any suggestionsIMG_20220825_192640286_HDR.jpg

Welcome to TW. I’d never buy one of these trucks from a salt belt state again. I went through this with my old 98 from Maryland. Even when they look solid on the outside, they can be about to rot through from the inside. You can look for clean frames from the south or west, but shipping and labor will be costly.

It may be better to cut your losses and buy a low-rust example, but be sure to undercoat religiously or it’ll just rust out again.
