Ok, so I gave it a little help with a small pressure washer that I would not have imagined would do this. With that said, anyone know a paint code for these on a OR with MGM paint? I did not realize these were painted as I thought they were just black plastic. Picture doesn't show it at all, but the paint looks almost brownish against the raw plastic which is actually darker. . . . .looks black.

Paint code is in door jamb, driverside. Look like you just blew clear off.

I'm pretty sure they're just plastic. Try cleaning it with a detailing plastic cleaner

Interesting. Is yours an Off road or sport? Hard to tell if the fender flare is unpainted in your picture

My MGM are definately black plastic-textured-yours look color matched; probably paint. Not sure on paint code. I did look into replacing the front drivers side trim and it was something like $196.

OR and it is definitely painted or clear. I have to go out of town for the evening, but will see if I can get a better picture in the sunlight.

I know the body paint code is there, but these look black until this came off and what is under it looks more like black. I will try to get a picture in sunlight and post later.

Ok, thought it was a sport.
Someone put a protective coating on them, then. No paint from factory, just raw textured plastic.

Those definately do look like mine, so what i was going to suggest. Instead of spending $196 to replace mine i used a toothbrush and toopaste to buff it out, then did a baking soda and water mix. Then used this Mothers back to black, I have been using this for years to bring back plastics and really like it.

I treat the flares with 303 in the spring and they regain their usual color/texture pretty easily

I am going to test it tomorrow, but it just hit me that it might be the ceramic coating that got blasted off. Will update after I apply some more.

this is what I was thinking, I have same MGM OR, and no paint on fender flares. Power washers can murder on things too, if you don't know what you are doing,,, actually it's not that hard, but people tend to grab the zero degree nozzle and think: more is more gudder!

people tend to F up more than they clean with em.
My neighbor's son wouldn't listen to me years ago- cut two screens and ruined the seals in several windows just "cleaning the siding" on the house. One of my nephews did the same, minus cutting the screens, to my brother's house.

Whatever. Its only 1700 psi and I normally don't get that close, but there was some crap that needed a little extra help. My patience were low, but I did get it off, lol.

I put some ceramic coating on it and it didn't change it. I would have sworn they were not painted as they don't look it, but there is something there. If it was white I wouldn't use a pressure washer, lol.

For those who go through a carwash do you use touchless or soft touch? Soft touch never gets my car clean and can almost hear the paint scratch. the touch is higher pressure than my pressure washer at my normal cleaning distance.

Whatever is on it. Needs to be completely stripped off. Otherwise you will see, the area that got pressure washed off. Did you buy truck new, or used? Was Rust Olimum wipe new get used on flares, or something in that sorts.
