Hey guys, I was out on a forest service road with some really nasty washboards when I noticed the check engine light came on. I noticed this hose got disconnected, so I pushed it back on and went about my business. After getting home, I went and checked the install manual for the TRD intake and it said that's the crank case vent hose. Do you think any damage was done driving around with that disconnected for about a mile? I'm going to clean out the intake now, but could I have sucked up a bunch of crap? Does this warrant changing the oil? I wasn't in anyone's dust cloud or anything, and it wasn't disconnected for too long. The truck feels fine, and I'll take it to o'Reillys or somewhere to get the code checked and cleared to make sure that was it. I also noticed that in the instructions, there's no tie or clamp used on that part. I'll clamp it now anyways, but let this be a warning to check your hoses!

You didn't hurt anything. It just caused a condition in which unmetered air was entering the intake system (Lean condition) and it set codes to notify you. The PCV system vents into the engine to burn off any free hydrocarbons so as not to release them into the atmosphere.
