The best explanation yet I’ve seen regarding ordering a “custom “ Tacoma from your dealer.
Read the comments also ,there’s some good insight there also.
I ordered , waited14 months for a white MT Pro and ended up “ settling “ for a White OR MT after the regional rep told my dealer any Pro MT regardless of color wasn’t going to happen in 2023.
I’m very happy with it and glad to have it.
In the dealerships defense they did offer me a different color AT Pro after 12 Months but I said no as I wanted the MT.

People who prefer auto transmissions just don't understand. :p They're the ones feeding the data back to the manufacturer. What would concern me is even if you manage to get one, the support for the vehicle (parts, knowledgeable maintenance staff, etc.) would also be less, or you'd pay more of a premium for it because it's out of the norm.

I got new tires a month or so ago, the (pretty young) guy comes out to pull the truck in and had to go get his boss. He couldn't drive a manual transmission lol

I find that kind of funny. Shop I use has never had any problems with any of my manual vehicles, even my most recent '22. Although it's a small farm town; probably all of those guys were driving a tractor as soon as they could reach the pedals.

As someone that works at a Toyota/Lexus dealership I can confirm that it's that way currently but was not that way before covid. We anticipate the option of submitting builds to become a thing again hopefully late this year or sometime next year.

My first choice would be a 6 foot bed with MT also.
