While expecting the TRDOR to be $45K MSRP + $5k dealer markup + $3200 for mandatory dealer installed step bars/protect package/N2 in the tires I started wandering to the SR5 model. Will miss the factory locker, of course. But before I go down this path, what the fk does SR5 even mean and what does it stand for? Btw it's Saturday, not Friday.

Sport Rally 5 Speed, ironically not available with MT. But the SR5 only is about $1800 less than the Sport/Off Road in the same configurations.

Figured it was a legacy badge. From what I've read about the 2024 TRDOR with remote reservoir shocks, sway bar disable, 33" tires, etc it's getting close to exceeding the 3rd ten TRD pro. Seems like a different animal compared to the 2nd/3rd gen package. So the SR5 might be the everyday-man model.

I have 2016 SR5 AC and the difference from SR is in the upgraded interior trim and exterior stuff like chrome bumpers. Mine is 4x4 and 4 cylinder engine and bought it out the door in 2016 for less than 30k. It’s been 100% reliable and with about 65K I’m going to keep it awhile longer. If they sold a 2024 xtra cab with 6 speed I’d sign up now. Miss the MT I had in earlier Tacos.
