The Gen 4’s look great and have some wonderful upgrades that I’m sure will be well received. I’m glad I just bought my Gen 3 2023 just a couple of months ago and so it is still new to me. I like the exterior styling of both the Gen 3 and 4. I actually prefer the interior of the Gen 3 over the 4, everything is so easy to navigate and use plus it has everything I want. Besides all that I still want the V6. It will be years before I would be interested in a 4 turbo, if ever. That's the great thing about Tacoma. One can be very happy with the generation they have. I bought the last year of the second generation (2015) TRD Off-Road access cab with 4.0 V6 and never had the desire to move to the next generation.

I’m also glad I got mine shortly before the new generation. I do like the style, colors, and trim levels of the 2024’s (other than replacing the access cab with the Xtracab… there is an entire thread on that already). I just like to wait until all the bugs are worked out. The first two years of the 3rd gens had some issues. I’m likely not in the market until 5th gens happen but love looking at the new models.

Alu-cab canopy and rear jumpseat delete.
I am still looking for a 5.7 Crew Cab Tundra 4x4. Hoping they will be easier to find soon. Right now nothing in my area. If I want it real bad I'll have to travel to get one.

Yea, I cant help but believe it was the right thing to do. I agree that I’m much more comfortable waiting a couple of years for any bugs to be worked out and since this was a ground up over haul, that creates many more opportunities for bugs that need to be tweaked. I could be like you Dry Side and just stick with my Gen 3 like you did with your Gen 2. I do think the Gen 4 has a lot of great updates but definitely like my “old” new truck :~).

Great thing about Tacos is that they have great resale value if you change your mind. If not, pays your off and down the line get a 4th gen. What is the TSS off-road package? Truck looks great.

Thanks for the link on “TSS Off Road”. The only thing I would add is on my Window Sticker the acronym TSS stands for “Truck Sport Series”, but what you get with the package is in the link you found plus nice All Terrain Tires and Tacoma rubber mats.

    Thank you guys!
Yea, doing those things to personalize your truck and adding some mods that make it more functional probably date back to all the years I have done the same with Jeeps. At the same time I am really enjoying the differences there are with a truck and so far I am very pleased with my new Taco!!

Yea, I have read all that crap too about how out dated it is etc. That was the big draw to buy now, it is much more tried and proven. Dependability is a big deal to me. Also, being very honest I really like the current lay out, options, engine, transmission, safety features….So again, liking the Now Old but new to me Gen 3 truck.
