Tried to install the durobumps front + rear bump stops with ubolt flip kit from R4T yesterday.

Fronts went on very easily, 5 min install.

The rears were a different story.

After removing the factory ubolts and plate I tried to put the new ubolts around the axle and the bolts were too small. I tried bending them out to gain the inner diameter length needed but still couldn't. I figured maybe I just need to force them in and when I tighten the nuts they will fix themselves. Not even close. Squared off the inner threads of the ubolt and because the threads are powdercoated 2 of the nuts were forced into cross thread.

There was no documentation of parts in my box from R4T, just parts taped together with no paperwork.

From what I've found there's no difference in ubolt inner diameter across Tacoma generations for the flip kit, so I have no idea what ubolts they gave me.

Anyone have a similar issue? Every single video I have found online for the flip kit install shows the ubolts very easily being installed.

If you’ve installed enough u-bolts over the years, sooner or later this problem pops up, usually with an aftermarket part. Best advice is ask for new u bolts properly bent to spec.

I installed this kit, ordered directly from Durobumps site. It installed smoothly, with no drama.

If memory serves me, the U-bolts had OME labels on them. They were a bitch to peel off.

My buddy and I just installed this kit a few weeks ago, we did need to close the gap a bit, but were concious of forcing the threads through the bolt holes, so no problems at all.
