It’s an air dam. Easily removable.

Toyota saw how much snow the West got this year, maybe thought 4th Gen owners could earn a little side money by plowing driveways and parking lots to help pay for it. :p

    Taint nothin’ new…

I'm pretty sure it's only the flares that make the truck wider, along with the wheels. You should be able to make any truck track as wide as a Pro or TH.

My theory is so Toyota can get a higher MPG rating on more trims. Making it easy to remove is probably the best part about it in my opinion.

Toyota should do some sort of PR campaign about how the air dam is removable :deadhorse:

My dad’s’ 76 F250 Ranger HiBoy had side pipes, we as kids had to jump out of it so not to burn the back of our legs. Lol! My mom made him remove them after awhile. :)

Why is there no info on the TRD Off Road yet? Toyota happen to have their most popular trim unavailable at launch?

Curious how TRD OR ride height will compare to the Pro/Hunt & Sport.

Should be the same height as Prerunner. Which Toyota says has an increased front ride height. Increas over what? I presume SR/SR5 and Sport. I'd presume Pro and TH have a taller ride height than the OR, but that could also be due to the taller tires. Those trucks probably do have a taller suspension lift.

One video points out that all three trims ORP, Pro, and Trail Hunter have increased suspension height over other trims.

They picked their top three most expensive trims instead. I’m anxious to see the OR, too.

Along with prices, mpg estimates, etc.

    Just the basics
Haven't read through all the specs but so far I'm not a fan of the 4th gen. Am I reading right that the suicide door on the AC is gone? That isn't a good move IMHO. I came from a 1st gen AC to a 2nd gen AC. Having the suicide rear door is a game changer. If the 3rd gen had a 2nd gen motor I'd buy in a heartbeat. The 3rd gen aesthetic, interior and exterior, is the best looking of the Tacoma family. I'll stick with my 09 for now.
