Ahh thanks for the info i have am fam they are giving it to me hard.

Has anyone heard of a percentage deductible on homeowners? I have a 1000$ deductible with am fam.
State farm told me that changed and now its some kind of percentage thing.
Is that true?

A lot of companies are switching over to that because rates and values are rising fast and therefore you % deductible will go up with it. I think it’s another way for them to screw over people. We just switched from farmers to usaa and home and auto actually dropped from last year. Farmers was going to raise by about 15-20%. We have better coverage and have the coverage on the new “value” of the home. I also opted to pay an extra few dollars and have the total loss on the truck be paid out 20% higher than value if it’s totaled. I pay $225 a month for a 21 Tacoma and a 2020 highlander. In September that should drop to around $200

Another thing to look out for is replacement cost value vs actual cost value. Make sure you have replacement cost value coverage so you can be made whole with any claim instead of being paid a depreciated value and having to pay out of pocket to cover the rest of repairs
