    Whyyyyyy!?
My husband learned last summer why you dont bypass the safety on a push mower when he went to tip it by grabbing the deck, lopped the end off. The stitches through the fingernail were the worst part..

Reminds me of my pilot buddy who shot a 3 1/8” framing nail into that exact spot down the length of his hand. Zero idea how he managed it.

Not vehicle related but tool related.

At one of my way back jobs (I was a lot younger :pout:) we had a massive vise. Bored people were always opening the damn thing all the way up just to see how far it would open, naturally when you wanted to use it you needed to crank it shut about 327 turns...

Due to the type of process, the longer you were down the exponentially more work it was to get running so machine stops were handled Nascar pit crew fast.

I rushed up the vise -- which again some dumb@$$ had opened full -- and begin spinning the handle closed (clockwise) for all I was worth. It was mounted on the left corner of a workbench and I was standing to the left of the vise.

About turn #243 I had the well oiled handle turning with a good rhythm when a co-worker arrived at the other side of the vise and asked a question, I stepped a bit closer to hear him and ---

    WHAP!

The steel end about the size of a golf ball on the 18" spinning handle did a neat uppercut to my ---

Well, I crumpled to the floor and my co-worker doubled over with laughter . (the bastard!)

Not from my truck but I've lost count on how many total stitches I have on both hands from working on cars.
Then this one time I slipped on a bracket, fell and herniated two discs, not fun.

Pinched my finger between the roof top tent and the rack while loading the tent on top. Cut a nice V with the bone showing.

Installing new KYB shocks on my one ton Ford a long time ago... cut the band strap on the compressed shock and waited for the shock to slowly extend... missed my mark and could not install the bolt properly... with great difficulty (tired and sweaty inside the garage) manually compressed the last shock to position the bolt... it took a few tries but finally... at the end of the day cleaned up and took a shower... glancing in the mirror i noticed tiny red blood vessels on my face due to over exertion... healed with time ... good i am too old now to do such work ...
