Called Auxbeam customer service and sounded like a 9 year old girl answered the phone on a train, in a tunnel. Looking for advice from any electrical gurus to wire an 8 gang switch panel to my house battery. I’m by no means an expert but wired up my solar, light bar, ditches, power to roof top tent, etc. Made the move to Auxbeam 8 gang for convenience of use and wondering if I have to use the add a fuse for power to the unit. If so, what’s the best place to connect it? Wired up the system without it and not getting any power, 100ah battery is fully charged but nada. Any advice is greatly appreciated

You need it connected for the auxbeam to work. I thought the ON/OFF switch was to completely turn off the auxbeam, but thats the memory switch. If you have 3 switches on you hit on/off it'll turn off all 3 then turn on all 3. Right now I tapped into the headlight fuse so it only works when the headlight is on, but I'm gonna run it into the interior fuse panel this weekend so it's on when the car has power.

In this pic look at the top left 15A fuse. P/OUTLET is what I see people tap.

Thanks for the quick reply! So I’m guessing the add a fuse wire needs to be plugged into a fuse panel to power the unit? I want to use it in the bed to power my fridge, lights, usb ports while the truck is parked and in camp mode. I wired it all up without the add a fuse and I’m not getting any power to the head unit

Yeah the add a fuse has to be plugged in for it to work. I've seen people run it straight to the battery with a ON/OFF switch inbetween so you can run it while the car is off.

Do you think I can plug it into something like a blue seas fuse panel?

So you’re plugged in to your starting battery, I assume? And the actual power is being pulled from your house battery? Trying to keep the systems separate but if that fuse is just to “trick” the system into thinking it’s plugged to the starting battery I think I’m following you. Thanks again for the back and forth

This power switch in the middle is wired to a constant 12 volt power source at the fuse box. All it does is power up the controls for the Auxbeam. That way I can just push that button and turn on any lights I want without starting the truck. Only downside is If I forget and leave it on and say my bed lights are on inside my covered bed where I can’t see them then it will kill my battery. But so far I have not done anything like thatIMG_5045.jpg

Awesome, thanks. Going to come up with a solution to keep the unit separate from my starting battery and really like the idea of having the on/off switch. Appreciate the insight

If you wanted to go the interior fuse box route I did exactly what this guy did.

So the auxbeam is on when the key is in the ignition.

Did you have to add a relay along with this switch?

I didn’t. Just looped a Blue Seas fuse box I had to fuse the Auxbeam. I don’t have it linked to the ignition, it’s house only to run my camp, side and interior lights as well as the fridge and water pump
