I am glad that name drop was a tag. I would've felt very awkward.

    So
Since the wind was strong this morning no fishing for me.
Maine and rust always go together.
The jeep showed its true colors this spring.
    I’m not a body man.
    I hate body work.
But, a quick look from the body guy said something like $4000.00

Yea like I’m going to afford that.

So, the better of the two fenders.

    IMG_6691.jpg

Ground out the bad stuff and installed a support piece..

    IMG_6692.jpg
So after two rounds of bondo, sanding for two hours, and 8 layers of sandable primer, I’m done for the day.

    IMG_6694.jpg
Tomorrow I’ll sand most of the primer off, sand the side of the fender by the flair, add 3 or 4 more coats of primer and inspect. Then, if it looks ok from 5 feet away, I’ll start on the 4 holes on the other fender.

I fluid film everything however, this is not it’s fault. There is a stiffener in that section that has rubberized insulation sandwiched between the two layers. So once moisture gets in, it can’t get out.
    Bad design..

I’ll get the ready to spray paint and clear next week. I’ll have a chance to use my new in box spray guns I’ve had for 20 years.

Oh the joys of doing things you hate. My only saving grace is I have some experience spraying lures so I’m hoping it will help me not fubar this….

You have the skills pull off something respectable.
Me, on the other hand, I'd have to pay a guy/gal.

Sounds like the tundra and squattytruck will be leaving the stables soon. Just got a call that there's a corolla circuit coming into downeast in July. I'm putting my name on that sucker come hell or high water. :bananadance:

Edit: either squattytruck or my midget. Not sure which.
