    Off-topic....
Anyone get more than 75w charging from a 100w jackery solar panel? I have gotten that, max, charging my 500s.

That's not bad. I think I peaked at 91 or so on a brand new panel, but I don't really pay much attention to them anymore. I just plug them up and make sure I'm getting a charge. I've had a unit overheat and stop charging....

PSA, DON'T leave your Jackery in the sun while charging. At a minimum, tuck it under the solar panel.

That's about what I have seen on a relatively clear day and aimed properly. Pretty sure the plug-in charger they include is 75W, so about the same as plugging it in.

I tuck mine behind the panel in the shade while charging, although I've only used the panels a couple of times on longer trips. It took it all day to charge to full from about 15%. I get a good 4 to 5 nights of CPAP use as long as I don't use the humidifier feature.

    Thanks.

I had full sun at sea level on Ocracoke campground last week. The most was 75w.

I can get more than 85w using the AC charger, so I am not convinced that it is a charge controller limit, unless it sees DC different than it sees AC.

Are these prices the result of competition?
    I keep hearing about EcoFlow.

I haven't quite figured that out. EcoFlow is certainly a big competitor.

On one hand, it seems like the base price has increased over the years, which would indicate either an increase in cost of production, supply chain issues, or a higher demand than supply. I'm fairly certain that the Explorer 1000 was right at $999 when I got mine, and it is currently MSRP'd at $1099. On the other hand, they are constantly running sales. That seems to eliminate the supply and demand option, though there have been a few times when some of the newer models were sold out (i.e. the 2000PRO or the 3000Pro when they first launched).

I am leaning toward it being mainly driven by marketing strategy. People are more inclined to purchase something when it is on sale because they feel like they are getting a good deal. Hopefully, this thread serves its intended purpose and people can gauge whether they are truly getting a good deal.

That's true, the new sale price is the old regular price.

    Prime Day Sale
(Not sure why it isn't 4th of July sale)
    July 3-12, 2023
Some exclusive to July 11-12, 2023
    https://www.jackery.com/pages/prime-day

There are some sales that I'm actually impressed with....like an Explorer 500 for $359, or an Explorer 300 for $225. I may pick up one or more myself.

I just picked up an explorer 300 for $219. The Explorer 240 is $168 which is crazy cheap. Not affiliated in any way, but been waiting for a good deal.

Is this a good deal for the Explorer 1000? I've been on the fence. Should I jump on it?

They have a comparison posted on Amazon. The Exploder 1000 plus is $1,199. $400 discount on the old one seems worth it I think.
