    Installing a Kenwood DMX 4707S

Update below. Got backup cam running.

After connecting the new unit, I have these two plugs left over. Can someone ID what these are for? Right now, all is working except when I put into reverse I get a "No Video Signal" on my screen. So it looks like it recognizes reverse but something is off.

Crutchfeild premade harness and yes I'm talking to them.

Would like to know what these two plugs are on the OEM Tacoma Entune double din head unit.

    Thanks,

Someone will correct me if I’m wrong, but the black one is GPS antenna and the white one is camera video.

    UPDATE:

Well, Crutchfield just rocks... I had my Red/White aux hooked up but not the Yellow cam in from the harness. Backup cam is up and running.

Everything works and I now have Apple Car play and Android Auto (have two phones). So I wont' need that GPS antennae used on my OEM unit. I believe that goes for the shark fin on top of my truck?

Went out for a 15 min run... set all the goodies. I waited too long to dump that OEM Entune... Carplay is just easy.

    New issue noted..

EDIT - issue resolved. Bad connection.

I am unable to receive AM radio stations. I do need this to work. Talked to Crutchfield but am still unclear. I did use the supplied antenna adapter and it plugged into the truck just fine. FM works just fine.

Does this have anything to do with the two plugs above and perhaps a powered antennae?

I thought the shark fin antenna on the roof was for am/fm/xm/gps? At least on the 3rd gens anyway?

Do you (or does anyone know) if I were to purchase this same Kenwood unit, would the backup cam still show in my rearview mirror (I have a 2012 SR5) or would the backup view go to the new head unit?

Also, when plug/n/playing into your Taco, are you able to connect via usb using the wired outlet in the Taco instead of using bluetooth?

    Does anyone know?
I'm looking at this very same Kenwood unit and would like to retain everything including AM radio reception.

    1. Camera out location would vary. There is an adapter you can buy to keep it in the mirror (don’t have a link offhand). Otherwise it would show in the new headunit.

    2. Metra has a connector to use the dash USB in the new headunit. Crutchfield sells it.

    3. Radio function would be the same, just plug in the antenna.

The white connection is GPS/HD antenna. The black, I'm unsure, but I believe it is the XM antenna. Regular AM/FM is picked up from the standard antenna.

The large white rectangle connector to the right of the OP's circled white connector is the radio antenna. You will want an adapter like this:
    https://www.amazon.com/Antenna-Adapter-Vehicles-Aftermarket-Installation/dp/B0B3F6SZS6?crid=12X9RZZLCS4GX&keywords=toyota+antenna+adapter&qid=1685027495&sprefix=toyota+antenn%2Caps%2C136&sr=8-1-spons

The blue wire is not used because the antenna is not powered.

For your backup cam question, unless you want to force it to use the radio, it should still give you the video in your mirror.
