They should google the JC Whitney catalog from 1972 in order to find all of the items!

 

Devo came about in 1973 (Akron, Ohio...hometown in a past life!)...8-tracks mid 60's to....? Cassette tapes became popular mid 70's?

I dunno, maybe I made all this up? Wikipedia...

 

8-tracks became popular once Ford put them in the Mustang. I think cassette sales surpassed 8-tracks in the late 70's. You could get 8-tracks readily into the early 80's. I think auto-makers stopped offering (factory) players in 81/82. If you were a Columbia House member, you could still get new releases on 8-track into the late 80's. Radio Shack sold blank tapes into the early 90's. CD's didn't overtake cassettes until the mid 90's. I don't think the car CD player was common until the late 90's / early aughts. Factory cassette car players were gone by 2004 or so. My 2006 Escape didn't have one; it was not an option.

 

I like how the tracks have to be split up over two progams for the tape splice to keep the running order the same as the LP...

 

Any idea if there is a downgrade from Toyo A30s to Horseshoes? I like to keep it old school.
