Enjoy your Ram, they are great trucks.

If I could have coughed up another 15k I would have bought one.

Heres my Pro Tip. When in a jam and have no " lubricant " , spit makes a great substitute.:anonymous:

The tacoma functions as designed and does so quite well. People expect too much from it. Just drive easy and enjoy the ride. Everyone is in a rush. Stomp on the gas. Slam the brake. Cut people off in traffic only to end up behind them later on. Rinse, repeat.

A tacoma isn't a dually diesel that can haul 30K pounds, nor is it a sports car that can rocket to speed in a few seconds.

Tacoma's, like other vehicles, have their quirks. Many people get along with the quirks just fine.

I use my tacoma to haul small loads, when I'm not doing that I'm taking a relaxing easy drive off road or on road. When I'm in a rush and I want to beat on something I take the 2004 camry jalopy or the wifes 2016 camry.

Recognize what you've got and if it doesn't work for your use case or lifestyle get something different.

Congratulations! Instead of complaining that your mid-size pickup can't do 2500 pickup things, you went out and did something about it. It truly amazes me the amount of people who come from diesels or full size V8 pickups and complain that the Tacoma doesn't match that driving and/or towing experience.

Amen. Toyota has stated before that this is a lifestyle truck. It isn't meant to haul huge loads, but it is designed to get you where you need to go and handle a bit of off roading while you're at it.

    Agree with the above.

    I needed a “homeowner” truck, not a commercial / work truck. I don’t haul heavy trailers. I don’t have a camper.

I haul surf boards, mountain bikes, hunting / fishing / camping gear, and (when my wife makes me) some mulch and gardening supplies.

If someone is cross shopping a Tacoma versus a half ton diesel, I would argue they don’t know what they really need and are equally likely to be disappointed in whichever they choose.

I have 2022 and have the same issues. They resurfaced the rotor at 15k and when I take it the dealer later this month, I’ll have them look at it again. I love my truck but it’s maddening.
