    Hello all,

I'm new to both Tacomas and modifications. I've had my 2020 TRD off road long bed since summer of 21. I love the extra space in the back.

I've settled on an OME kit however I have no clue what is actually in the kits, I'm torn between the medium and heavy kit, (this is not a medium vs heavy discussion.) I just have no clue whats in them.

My bumper will probably have an additional ~ 77lbs on it when I can buy the bumper, maybe a little more. The rear will have a new bumper (~120 - 180lbs), bed rack(~40 - 80lbs), spare tire (~70lbs), camping gear (not to be carried all the time), and some misc tools.

From what I've read a light or medium front springs and heavy rear would be good for me but, again, I have no clue what's in the OME kits. I've spent a few days using google to no avail beyond the labels saying 'heavy' and 'medium'.

Any insights would be helpful thanks.

the only difference is probably the rear leaf springs. the medium have four leafs and two overloads. the heavy rear springs(which i have) has five leafs and two overloads. if i were you, if you ever plan on adding additional weight in the rear, get Deaver Expedition springs. my buddy has them and i helped him install them when he removed his ome dakars. no comparison in my opinion. the Deavers are way more heavy duty. the ome dakars he removed were less than a year old and sagged excessively under extra weight. he gave the dakars to me just for helping him. i don't carry extra weight or off road my truck very often so they are ok for me. the dakars are better than stock, but i wouldn't pay $700 for them. also, the second leaf on the dakars will rub the spring shackle if you off road a lot. this is a known problem with these springs. i actually took my springs apart and trimmed a little off of the second leaf so this can't happen to me. good luck in your decisions.

Might want to consider 886 or 888 coils up front if you plan on having the extra weight. 887 will give you about 2 inches, maybe a little more if you add a trim packer.

EL111R is the stock load leaf pack but gives about 2 inches easily.

The links you provided is one of the best shops not only in NJ but all over. Call them up with any questions you have

I went with 886 up front and the HD rear springs. I might not be hauling 660lbs around all the time, but my daily rear weight will probably be in the 300lb range. Sacrifice some comfort but when I load it up with tent and gear ill probably be happy.
