    Hey all,

My 03 Taco (quad cab) has power windows and occasionally the drivers side window will just stop working... the other three will roll up and down just fine, but the ds front will just decide to quit. I can shut the truck down and when I fire it back up it might work just fine... or maybe not. Might just move 1/8" at a time until I get it back up. Completely random. ...and it's just that one window that does this. Was thinking the motor was going bad or possibly what does the auto down function (not sure how that works). ...or is there a relay I need to be looking for?

    Any thoughts??

    Thanks!

    Chad

    Welcome to the forum!

It does get the most use.

Have you ever lubed the track? It can make a big difference.

The switch can get dirty and the contacts wear.

I had this exact problem and fixed it by replacing the motor. It's not hard but make sure to buy some extra panel clips because they most surely will break when you remove it. Put a dab of grease on the gear before reassembly. My driver's side now goes up and down much faster than all of the other windows...
