In an effort to create the cheapest swap possible (albeit labor intensive) a vw was procured with the intention of creating a fwd rear floating axle delivery vehicle. I’m sure this dream of reinventing the wheel is possible: my measurements indicate that you COULD lower the taco and make the vw parts fit, but any reasonable person would just get a lowering kit with shocks that allow for the cv axle conversion.

It turns out this pipedream is unnecessary as the tacos ailment was improperly relayed by the primary owner (it is a company vehicle) and the 2.4 does indeed need a swap but the a43d can stay, along with its rear driveshaft. So far there is ONE brand of $1200 premade adapter kit made for a bhw/a43d pairing, and so there is a lot less research to be doing… I was kinda getting into cv axle research.

My main question at this point: will the stock 2.4L alternator have any trouble with the 4.7 2UZ starter the kit is made for?
